its a bit weird to get into but not that hard, the pannel at the bottom of the windscreen pops off on the drivers side, i dried my mates one out on the radiator and it worked fine but tried it on another and it didnt...

when was it last serviced? check the coil pack and or sparkplugs

it needs to be very tight twisties for a 1.2 to keep up, ive done the full coilovered 1.2 before and it was fun and kept up with some other quick cars but now ive got a 172 and learned how to drive it properly theres no hope in hell that wee car would be keeping up!

yep a mapped dci would give a 172 a good run for its money down a twisty road but wouldnt be anywhere near it straight line or on a fast road

ive had my 172 cornering with the shift light on in 5th lol high speed cornering not a problem, are you talking about lower speed cornering here?

. well as said sportlines are just springs where coilovers are springs and dampers, but the standard dampers in my opinion are perfect for fast road, a set of slightly stiffer and lower springs like the eibachs match them perfectly as they give you a little less roll and a little bit more...

the only way id think about a replica is if it was built around a 1.5 DCi engine so you would have all the looks with the cheap running costs. a 1.4 isnt really going to be any better on petrol than a 172 is! where a dci is a cool money saving idea! plus you can pick them up mega cheap and...

unless your going all out and buying H&R/Bilstein/AST or something along those lines i wouldnt bother, i had FK's before and my 172 on eibach springs handles better!

my 1.2 16v had a flexi joint on it as standard and i went thru 2 of them in a year but thats probably because it was lowered and catching the ground lol

same brakes on 1.2 16v as the 1.4 and 1.6 16v what model of 1.2 are we talking about here? you can use the 172 setup with not to much hastle

thanks for the info guys, got a lot less torque steer since i renewed my track rods and track rod ends but still a bit so its maby something to consider too if theres less to be had from 205's not that it botheres me though! i think ill give them a go see how they are! so im right in...
