possibly depends where the exhausts blowing from mine was the welds on the centre section just before the backbox and the joint at the cat to centre section.

doubt it'll get pumped by a 172 when its got 160bhp and weighs about a ton! not going to be much faster but deffo quick through the gears when the revs get up!

awesome mate cant wait to see this running as you know i had looked into the k4m route for a couple of months with my 1.2 16v when i blew it up, due to lack of time though i stuck another 1.2 in it, got shot of it and bought a 172 but wish i had still done it...
flat out going for it the CTR is very slightly quicker in a straight line but normal driving the 172/182 is a bit quicker due to the extra low down torque it has.
both engines need worked hard to really get going but the civic needs REALLY worked!

my coilovered 1.2 16v would have murdered my 172 if it had the same power! the speed it could carry round a bed was awesome!!
but standard vs standard the 172 is in a totally different league! even if you forgot about the power difference the road holding is awesome! the steering is miles...
ive got 2 conti sport contacts on the front of my 172 the now because i killed my Eagle F1s and got no cash left for another 2 for now! but to be honest the conti's are actually pretty awesome! and in no hurry to replace them now!

conversions only worth it if your doing it yourself tbh.
when i done my engine i changed oil & oil filter, plugs, air filter, coil pack, clutch, clutch cable, cambelt and water pump, aux belt along with new suspension bushes, suspension top mounts, track rod ends etc felt like a brand new car...
been through loads on my last 2 cars both cars were down on power compaired to panel filters and standard airbox's
neather sounded that great, slight bit louder than removed acoustic valve but not worth the power loss!
mine got done at work last week cost me £300 to sort out, happened the same month my road tax, insurance, 36k service and 2 new tyres are due, and now it needs a lambda sensor lol.

car went into garage under warranty with engine managment light on and flat spots, since its a toyota garage they couldnt find fault so it went to renault to the CLIP, turned out to be the "upstream o2 sensor" so toyota garage phoned their extended warranty company and its not covered under...
nice choice mate same as me but ive got an 03 plate, my exhaust fell off couple of months ago at just over 24k, was covered by warranty though because i bought it from a dealer.
