engine restriction idea is good in someways but bad in others, i know i would rather be in a 172 with a 18yr old who knows about cars rather than someone who doesnt have a clue how a car will and can react but just likes to go fast (such as my dad who has been driving for 20 years but doesnt...
get clear side repeaters like said above mate, little tip though get the genuine renault ones, i got ones from K-Tec and they're cheap and nastly and even although they say they are for a clio i needed to mod them with a stanley to fit because they were for a megane. they also let in water...
my blower fan has got REALLY REALLY noisy for some reason and seems to be cutting out for a second or 2 every once in a while, think its needing replaced.
anyone know where about behind the dash it is and how to get to it? also how much will a new fan cost assuming thats all thats needing replaced

im trying to find out the exact same thing mate.
The foglights plug into the car behind the bumper on the passengers side, as far as i know most expressions are wired for foglights so i think all you need to do is fit the actual lights themself, plug them in and change the steeringwheel stalk...
I should be up for it, will have just passed my test about a month and a half max before it though so i'll see nearer the time, just the thought of a 5 hour drive down and 5 hour drive up!

some of the early Phase 2's have 52mm but 90% of them are 58mm inc my 02 plate car.
This is for Expressions and Dynamiques but i assume the authentique is the same
You do have heated mirrors mate, even the expressions have them, they come on when you put the heated rear window on.
The digital dials and new inlet manifold/throttle body came in mid 2004 when the Phase 3 was released (different front bumper, Grill, dials & inlet manifold)
Get a Ph1 so you cant use your bodykit....
The 172s get faster the more miles they have on them generally which is somthing to keep in mind, MK1 172 has as edde said the manual throttle body which makes it more responsive only thing i dont like about the MK1 172 is the dashboard.
personally...
Wouldnt be this problem all the 172/182 boys have with the engine knocking? (hits on the subframe i think) someone will be able to give you more info on this.
