Some inspiration here - https://cliosport.net/threads/megane-powered-twingo-gt.427871/
I'm sure this one had a PK4 and a 225 engine. I'm not sure on how many splines the 197 shafts have but it's way more than the Twingo as I'm sure they're either 21 or 23 iirc. What do BeanieSport do with theirs?
Aye TL4 is a hefty chunk lighter and way smaller in size too. Could just use the 197 block and slap a 225/250 head on it
Grand Modus came on a JH3/JR5/JC5. PK4 is 6 speed only
You gonna be using the Twingo hubs or wanting 225/197 hubs?
I'm sure you can use the 197 sump on a Meg 225 engine and use a TL4, but the TL4 ration from the 197 are more suited for a revvy engine. You can use the TL4 from a 1.5 dCi Megane though which has longer ratios.
Is a lot easier to use the ND0 box though 😂 @Brigsy has gone for the 250 PK4 in his...
Same, bastarding thing
And my Microsoft To Fo has started pinging me every bsstard morning with "What are you going to do today"
f**king cheb mi'sen off a bridge if you carry on
Been watching Road and Race ever since Gary was doing videos
When they first started they were proper merrells wearing virgins... but now there's only one of them 👀
Same bolt on all MK2 clios mate
I did think that there were shorter and longer ones, now I'm doubting everything because James is a notorious clio pervert too😂😭
You can but if your timing is already slightly out then it will be slightly out again. They're not keyed so the crank bolt holds the crank pulley in place so if loosens then the engine is lunched. Same with the cam sprocket, the nut on them does come loose
The bolt is a female torx bolt and I...
Aye I usually just lift the full shell off the floor, windy gun the nuts halfway and chop the bolts and let the beam drop. Only had to ever do that once on a car from Scotland which looked like it had spent it's life in a canal 😂
Any other time you can get a hold on the heads easily enough
Clean the threads on the rear beam mount bolts, spray em with WD, then get in the back seat, stick some molegrips on the round head and caged nut and use a windy gun to nail em off. I've never had an issue with any clio I've stripped or done this with. I've done well over 15 rear beams
Don't be daft, he has a car on finance so he's balling. It's when you finance/lease 2 cars for £700-£1000 a month, then everyone knows you have made it in life
Aye mate but I just drop the shocks and leave a jack under the beam so you can lower and lift it/pull/push it slightly
You can get a fair bit of movement without even stressing a brake line or ABS sensor
Great cars for nailing about in
50mpg... nah, try about 70mpg which is what my Mrs' did 😂 I'm fairly certain that they run on the fumes from the car in front! Just make sure the door seals and the exhaust manifold are fine and you're laughing mate, I'm pretty sure doing 10 miles a day my mrs...
Easy enough
The trickiest bit is getting the old bushes out, drill them, then hacksaw the outer race to take some of the pressure off then knock them out, knock the new bushes in
