Wireless charging was on Android and working well for a few years. Apple bring it to theirs, people are amazed. Fast charging, only just coming to iOS. Wide angle. Again, old hat but amazing that it's in iOS. Android phones are coming up in prices but the build quality is getting much better...

It’ll be interesting what App Store they develop and how well populated it will be. I’m due an upgrade soon. Think I’ll be sticking to my Pixel 2xl at the moment and going Sim free. The prices of some contracts are ridiculous for what you get.

I've always sworn by Spigen. Probably had 7 or 8 over the time. Never broke a phone or smashed a screen with one on and I've dropped a few. I've always used tempered glass screen protectors though apart from my brief encounter with a Note which had curved glass

Is there any way of exporting a video from a BT Vision box? We have a couple of bits that we want to keep before the box breaks and we go back to sky. Cheers.

Get YouTube vanced. Not sure if it's available for iPhone but works well on Android. It's an APK download and then you sign in using your YouTube details. Allows you to lock the screen and continue to play the video. I use it for a lot of video podcasts in the car.

Pixel 2xl. 2 years on nearly. No issues. My note 8 lasted under a month before I returned it, just couldn't get on with it. Not sure if I'll even upgrade come contract renewal tbh.

Are you signed in using Google? When I swap phones I need to sign into my Google account but then the passwords are saved. Not sure if this is only on Nexus/Pixel devices though.

How are you finding the camera? I was reading a review yesterday and they say it's superb (all Sony cameras have been great tbh) I nearly got one before I got my Note 9 18 months ag (which lasted less than a month) but the guy said he'd had to send his back a few times due to battery and...

I'll be in the same boat soon. Think it'll be the first time I won't upgrade. I'll probably stick to sim only, maybe even bin off O2 and go to EE as it's miles better for internet and general signal but contracts are a lot more than 02. The 2xl is more than good enough tbh.

I was taking mine to work a lot with me as we have a lot of time sitting doing nothing. Me and my mate got gold cups in all of the Mario kart races. Some of that was infuriating. I've started Mario on my own and get pissed off with it at times. It'll be one to come away with me when I'm away...

If it's just for holidays, I'd avoid a DSLR. Go mirrorless like James said or look at a good compact. I've got a Lumix DMC LX100 and it's a good compact. Full manual mode if I want to use it. Loads of features that I probably won't use but others would. It was quite pricey a few years back but...

I wasn't sure if they had better sensors in the Google phones which helped.

Here's a review of the OP7. Not watched it yet but my mate said it's looking like a great phone. @ForceIndia is it the camera software that's bad then? I'd assume the hardware if they are saying it's poor in low light. The Google camera APK. will probably be out a day or two after release...

Also the camera isn’t getting the best reviews, especially in low light. What the operating system like on them? Is it as close to vanilla as you can get without it being a google phone?

Some won't have 4g capabilities depending on network provider. I looked at a few last year and that was one of the issues.

That's why I mentioned getting a skin earlier in the thread. It'll protect the paint/finish and you can get them with texture for grip. I've got mine in a clear case now but even then it gets ruined with bits of dust etc getting in-between. My mates like you with not liking them in cases but...
