RSTuner fastchip 98ron map is well worth doing, better cold starts, lumpy idle smoothed out, redline raised and better grunt lower down the rev range. Plus it's the cheapest way of remapping the car and you can use the unit to read and clear fault codes.

Normal unleaded is usually 95ron, I have ran mine on it when i've been in the arsehole of nowhere and i'm running on fumes, but the car hates it, it's gets used to it eventually but it robs it of it's balls. Last time I used it was when I scrapped my Mums old Vectra and drained it's tank...

My car's on the 98Ron RST map and it damn near misfires if I run it on normal unleaded.

I had a brand new Mk5 Golf GT TDI once, with option leather, CD multichanger, cruise control & 4Motion, and every insurance quote I got stated none of those factory fitted extras would be covered, in the event of a write off, i'd get back a bog standard car with none of that on it.
