I've got the first one, I think I paid about £160 for it last year, the other was still at near full price iirc.
Not the sharpest of lenses but it's a good lens for the money.
This was at full zoom

EDIT - Just noticed you want it for motor sport.
This was taken...
I played the Beta last week and really didn't enjoy it. Might give it another go but as it stands, I won't be paying full price for it when it's released.
Video dosen't really give too much away, no game play either but it appears to be a prequel as apposed to GOW 4
Hopefully it will be decent, I quite liked the previous 2, never played the first one though.

Bit slack on the updates for this recently...

Exactly this.
I have a cheap wide angle attachment, the images come out really really soft, lots of vignetting and just poor quality in general.
Save up for one or the other and get it right first time.
Some great updates.
I've taken a few over the past week whilst in Bath & Cornwall, just going through them but I quite like these.

And an attempted star trail, not the best...
Gutted.
Like you say, wont affect picture quality but the fact that you know its there will bug you. And the resale value too.
What thickness padding is in your bag then?
Running a little early for work today and managed to pull over to get this. Wished I was 5 minutes earlier though.

Yeah I think he means the first one! Unless you are a high roller?
Very good cheap lens. Could prob find one a bit cheaper than from Jessops (Amazon maybe)
I think you should seriously consider the canon I linked before. You can pick them up for under £200 and the IQ is great. Light camera, good screen, great low light images and a very good zoom.
Dont get a 550 for video. Its pretty pants tbh.
I have a 550 & a 30 and the 30 is such a better camera, build quality is much betyer, its just a bit old now. Should have gone for a second hand 7 i think instead of the 550. Its too small, controls are a bit s**t too.
Image quality is better...
Everybody's? It was awful!
Edit. It probably sold really well with the anticipation of it being good after the long ass production. It was then probably the most traded in game of the year.
I've given up playing online now due to every time I go on there seems to be an update and I don't want to wait half an hour to play!
I just use it for bluray and campaign games now. Shame really as I have always been a PS boy.
Once this dies I think I will get an XBOX.
Cheers mate. Took a few attempts, still not that happy with it though.
Another possibility but again not too sure. Had to crop quite a bit.

I really like that Scott. I need to get out still and do a star trail but the nights that I've been free have been clouded over!
Took a few that I like recently.
This gull looked tired. He was sat on the roof of the boat for about an hour! Quite like this shot of him.
