Yep, all 172s have them, the outer bushes connect to the wishbones, and the inner bushes are mounted to the subframe I think. Kam racing sell Powerflex aswel, they're not too bad on price either. I can't find Powerflex bushes on the ECP site though.

It's not flocked any more, I wiped all the sh*te off for CSS, everyone was disappointed it wasn't as dirty as they'd hoped. lol The back's still all kinds of f*cked up though, but that's where the dog lives so there's no point in even trying to keep it clean.

The ESC bit was interesting, although i'm not sure my car would react in the same way as the Aygo at 70mph. The thing flipped over because of its massive amounts of body roll and soft as sh*t suspension, i've swerved like that at 70 to avoid debris on the motorway, the dog kennel pissed it with...

Fair enough I can understand that. Tbh if I was 17/18 again, i'd get an old Mini as a first car, even a 1275 engine is going to be a hell of a lot cheaper to insure than most other cars.

Wouldn't it just be better to just take the engine out, strip it down, replace all the gaskets and seals, then put it back together? Good way to learn how it all works. Or are you just trying to get a working road car you can slowly restore and tinker with?

Before you do any of that, just make sure it's not your alternator bracket that's rattling, it's a brace bar that secures it to the block. I was about to rush a belt change and put myself in the poor house because I thought the rattle was terminal, turns out it was the bracket that was loose...

Pain in the arse tbh mate, as i've no clue what size it is or where i'd get another bolt from. Do I even need it as it's doing nothing atm because it's not attached? God knows how long it's been like that, could have been years tbh. 1*2s fitted with an RS2 inlet must have had there's removed.

Tried to tighten up my alternator bracket but failed because there's no bolt in there at all, that'll be why it's rattling then.

Turns out it's the alternator bracket. :D I got a mate to hold on to the thing while I blipped the throttle, the rattle stopped instantly, it didn't feel loose initially but giving a hard wiggle moved it about loads. I really quite happy because I was about to skint myself to rush an aux/cam...

I kind of like the red & black two tone effect, wouldn't have done the boot though, the rest is pure gashment! :S

Well all the belts are due for change as it's been 5 years, only problem is i'm having a really hard time trying to save for it, as soon as I get a few hundred quid together, something comes up and life drains it away. :dapprove: I know if the aux belt snaps it can take the cam belt with it, so...

Ah right I get it now, I just put the computer on the other side of the room and squinted at it, it does sort of look like a sky blue Stig helmet. lol
