All Mk2 boot lids are the same so any Mk2 spoiler will fit.

You can have the battery disconnected indefinitely pretty much, it wont affect anything, other than your dash clock & stereo pre-sets. Obviously your alarm & immobiliser wont work, but it's not like anyone can steal the car without a battery in it. ;)

Remove the negative first, then the positive, undo the battery clamp, lift it out job done. If you're leaving the battery in place, wrap the ends in gaffa tape. (metal bits at the end of the wires) You don't want them touching the battery and shorting out and causing a fire.

Nothing could really go wrong if it came away totally, as long as you blocked the hole off otherwise crap will get sucked into the engine.

Oil breather pipe, you could just take it off, block the hole and fit one of these instead. Or replace the whole thing with a silicone pipe.

The JC5 130 I got from a breakers is smooth as silk, it's a good stop gap while you save for a refurb, cost me £275 but it's 20k miles newer than my car. If it makes you feel better I don't have the money for a second box and refurb, so i'm just gambling that mine will last a few years while I...

Get another one from a breakers or the for sale section, £150-£250 depending on mileage. Then send your knackered one to Agency Transmissions for a full refurb, he'll take it apart and tell you what it'll cost before he does anything. If he can't sort it, or reckons it's too knackered he won't...
