My dog spells better than this!!
Not only is the car horrendous, but going by the spelling i'd imagine this guy has problems tying his own shoes.:S

You can get them from Renault, I can't remember how much they are, but I can almost guarantee
that you'll have enough coins in your wallet at this very moment to afford a new one. (They're dirt cheap)
I'd ask whoever changed your oil if they fitted a replacement sump plug washer,
(they should...
Your sump plug washer has a rubber seal on the inside of it,
i'd wager who ever's been doing your oil changes has been re-useing the same washer and the seal's knackered.
Well in that case I probably drove past you anyway but didn't notice lol,
as I work in Stratford every weekend till 6pm, and make it back to Cov by about 6:30pm.
Unfortuately you'll never see me as my 172s off the road atm due to a broken gearbox,
but if you see a bloke with dreadlocks in an...
As I was driving home from work I saw an Iceburg 1*2 in Stratford upon Avon,
I was driving out of the town on the A3400 (Birmingham Rd) and you were driving in.
I'll try another spotted thread, not that anyone replies, lol ;)
I saw a very nice RB 182 (cup?) no stripes, at 6:20pm driving southbound on the A46 Coventry end,
you wont have seen me as I was in an old Mondeo shed going in the opposite direction.
I've not changed mine myself but from searching previous post on here, the gearbox oil change procedure is as follows,
Unscrew the plastic screw on the front of the box first, if you can't get that off there's no point in draining it.
(thats also how you check the level, it should be just...
It's not as easy as that though, I tried undoing the refill screw on the front the other day and it wouldn't budge,
there's just not enough room to get the leverege you need to unsrew it.
My gearbox went bang and I wanted to check the level but it's impossible to move, I don't know how garages...
I've heard this aswell, which is why i'll be replacing both the upper & lower gearbox mounts, and the engine mount at the same time.
Worth doing imo, they're not expensive.
£3500 grand?!! That's to buy the car and have the engine work done?
You could have bought a mint 172 for that, or even a half decent 182!!
I'd ring them to at least see what they say.
So i'm looking for a shed around £500 to use while I save for a new gearbox/clutch/labour etc,
and I thought that looks alright I wonder where it is?
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3037415.htm
In the for sale section they are, but i'd have no idea what condition it was in before it was for sale,
ClioSpares are £350 collected from Doncaster, or £400 delivered for a box that's been tested with a 3 month warrenty.
That's second hand, a refurbed box from them is £450 collected and £500...
£400 quid delivered for a secondhand box from Cliospares with 3 month warrenty, new clutch because everyone recomends it £120 eurocarparts, Labour from Fred budget for £500 to be on the safe side.
Or am I being thick and it'll cost alot less than that?
Could be worse, my gearbox exploded at 70mph on Saturday.:(
It's now stuck in gear and i'm going to have to get at least a grand together to get a replacement and have it fitted.
If it's got tits or wheels it'll cost you a fortune and give you nothing but sh*t.;)
I've got a set of these ready to go on, unfortuately they arrived 2 days after my gearbox exploded. LOL
Did you use a vice or press to get them in, or did you manage it with your hands?
Mine did this when I first got it, the rear bounced around on the smallest bumps, and stepped out if you showed it a corner.
Luckily the guy that sold it to me threw in a set of rear dampers off a 182, so I sorted it within the first week of owning it.
When I removed the knackered rears they...
Wierd!!!
Although i've seen far worse tbh, at least he's not messed the side skirts up or put a snow plough on the front.
Tints and lights need removing immediately.:nono:
When I rang Renault the other day they said the exact oil for a 1*2 gearbox was TransElf NFJ 75W80 GL-4,
but 75W90 will do aswell, just make sure it's GL4, I asked the same question the other day.
