    Clio 182 rebuild

Would take a refurbished standard wishbone over a Ktec item. Most likely just the same as other aftermarket’s just given the marketing hype from ktec. The only stronger part looks to be the plate above the ball joint but this is standard on lower models if I’m not wrong. I have a set of new...

    Epas rack stiffness?

Cheers chaps! Just the two bolt mounting compared to the 4 of the standard rack.

    Epas rack stiffness?

With the EPAS rack only being held on via two bolts instead of the 4 found on a hydraulic rack, would anyone say there’s a reduction in stiffness from that point. I have had the wishbones plated and the subframe stiffened so seems silly to sacrifice rigidity here.

I’ve had mine stitch welded because it was getting blasted and painted so why not! But as it’s going to be running more power and torque eventually it could make sense!

    New uprated injectors

I’d speak to whoever’s mapping it and get their view on it. Be nothing worse than buying and fitting some with the mapped disapproving or them not working 110% with the setup!

Matched Inlets worth doing along with group n timing ?

No difference in lower inlet if getting it ported. I’ve always been under the impression that the throttle body is a gimmick but happy to be told otherwise!

    182 Wishbones where to buy

Refurbished originals for the Oe quality or there’s plenty of cheaper copies on eBay. Seem a bit hit and miss with the ball joint position. Cup/non cup etc.

Any of them due an aux belt. Your the only man who used genuine bits on them anymore and I’ve got a Renault aux belt kit I can’t get shut of 😂 as for the mapping I’m intrigued to see how it goes!

    Bulkhead Heatshield

The nuts are a specific thread and hard to come by. I’ve got the part number for them written down somewhere. They were nearly £2 a nut when I ordered some 6 months ago so wouldn’t be surprised if they have gone up. I’ve also used the bmw style plastic ones before and had no issues

Engines not out yet. And with the messing it would take you’d be better getting one from euro or eBay 👍🏻 @AIRBORNEGOD

    Timing up 197 cams for a 182

@ryancook1993 Use the genuine Renault tools to lock the crank, and then the 197 8 degree timing tool to accurately time the cams up. The rest of the timing is done no differently. Just the horse shoe tool is replaced by the 197 timing tool 👍🏻 Hope that helps to explain.

    Timing up 197 cams for a 182

Use the standard Renault timing tools. But instead of using the Renault horse shoe tool. Use a 197 timing tool. 7 or 8 degrees depending on how you want it and mappers preference. Where are you based. I have the 197 tool you can rent. Cheers

@MLB I’ve come to a bit of a full stop with development as the car I was using for “road testing” and miles is currently off the road. In terms of where I’m upto, V1 was a success in terms of reducing play. I then sent a revised drawing to the machine shop and had a prototype made up for V2...

Any differences between Ph1 172 and ph2 172 bottom end

I believe the crankshaft is slightly different in terms of weight. I’m sure someone else will be along to confirm or deny this but if I recall there is a difference between ph1, ph2 and 197/200. This shouldn’t affect anything in terms of a standard rebuild though!
