Best thing about 15s though is the (much) cheaper tyre prices more than make up for the cost of new wheels, just have to look out for some cheap enough.
I had a similar issue, it was the sunvisors causing mine as I had removed them and screwed into the wire when putting them back in.
The interior light and sun visors are on the same circuit

I had a 2.0 8v mk4 Golf for a few months a little while ago. Nice cars and a nice place to be just not very quick.
Been looking at VAGs again recently, something with the 1.8T engine in though
You need to remove it to get a good job. Its not difficult though but the clips for the sunvisors and grab handles will need replacing as you have to break them to remove them.
I did mine with some fabric from Ikea
