factory ones are made by KYB yep. cup ones are uprated over standard, however they are the same fitment so both will fit both cars (only rears, fronts are different bolt spacing)

yeah few guys running 170bhp odd with just a bigger turbocharger, exhast manifold and 182 injectors, stock internals, ecu etc. no one has really passed the 170hp mark or found out what the pistons and rods will take.

given the OP's request 40-50mm lowering then yes it is a no brainer, cheap coilovers it is.

yes the op is looking for non RS fitment, in which case you wont get any lowering springs that match the damping of the oe dampers so better to go coilovers or a full kit but going full kit is much the same price with no height adjustment obviously edit: my bilstein B14's wernt as bad as any...

eibachs arn't a good match for non RS dampers either, they drive rubbish with them, not the perfect match they are for the 172/182

as Koi says, genuine only, renault had them out of stock for about a month at one point so i tried various motor factors and even though they all listed clio RS, none of them fitted, had the same problem with my dci100
