yes mounts are the same, 172/182 has a gearbox to subframe mount that the lower spec cars dont but id imagine you could just drill a hole in the subframe to use it anyway, however cant see that being an issue for you since you are using a different engine/box.
suspension/lower arm/arb setup is...
got one on pre order should have it for the end of the month aparently. Symbian does everything i need ive been using it for the last 1.5yrs on my N8
reason its running symbian is because they have been developing the camera technology for the last 5yrs so been developed to run on Symbian...
yep mate that sounds about right, the setup on it is awesome, it manages to offer little body roll, while soaking up bumps with ease, it does feel quite stiff on the road compaired to a Dyn S but in no way uncomfortable. The 200 with cup pack can be very uncumfy on the road but i dont mind as...
roundabouts and sharp corners are only going to be an issue if you approach it like a spaz and turn the wheel expecting it to turn. the mk3 chassis is extremely adjustable on the limit, use weight transfer to get it round the bend as you would in any nimble FWD car and you will be fine.
I will...
if your suffering from "lack of grip" in the GT then your using a far to aggressive and slow style. i done plenty of track days in mine and never had a single issue with the standard setup. standard brakes left a lot to be desired on track but not really what they were designed for.
i beleive...
check for play in joints and track rods/ends as above, replace dampers, go genuine unless your willing to spend big bucks. geometry setup as the icing on the cake!
after owning 2 172's and 2 mk2 dci's id have another dci100 in a heartbeat but not another 172, depends what your looking for in a car though.
i done about 30k hard miles in my dci100, 20k of them remapped at 130hp / 190lbft and had a right giggle in it! abused some much more powerful cars and...
be sad to see it go always saw this car about on here since i joined and enjoyed your videos.
engines notoriously strong.. i used to say that at one point too when bigging up RS clios lol!!
search for my thread years ago when i was going to do it, i had most of the info all sorted just awaiting parts before i manned the f**k up and bought a 172 lol
theres a known problem with people thinking they can drive a car like a race driver without using the proper techniques. Yes the gearbox should possibly be built to withstand these idiots better. same issue with J series mk1/mk2 boxes.
box used properly wont give any issues. change the oil when...
i can put up with worse seats and a few less toys for a much better engine.
ive driven both pretty extensively, and the K4M doesnt cut it with that little torque in a big car, i found it gutless down a backroad unless giving it a full 100% which isnt what you want when your not totally in the...

id personally rather have a DCi 106 Dynamique S over a 1.6 16v GT. you will get one no problem for that budget they are starting about 4k mark now for a higher milage one.
later ones with the different wheels come with half leather, bit nicer dash, white dials and most have keyless entry. look...
mine were done after 40k on my old ph2 172, i changed everything bar them trying to cure the play, as i never knew they had a joint on them, felt brand new once i had changed them
i cant remember the exact location of the sticker but i remember seeing it on mine when i had to find it, was pretty easy to see lol!! not much use that!!
needs to be renault for the dampers to get the proper ones. before you start spending money on ARB's etc check the parts i listed above too, best money i ever spent was refreshing all mine.
the spacers must be there, i cost arnold clark a fortune fixing a car i bought from them when they didnt fit one of the spacers on one side doing rear discs, ended up getting new discs, pads, stub axel, wheel bolts as it destroyed them!
as for the original image, pull the caliper carrier...
ive always used John at ProGrip for my servicing on cars i cared about the stamp and for my alignment, so hes the one guy i can trust to take it apart and put it back together properly!
its going to ProGrip larbert who done the initial alignment check on it and found out it was screwed!! will be getting 2 new front tyres on AC too as the car has ate the inside edges of them!
arnold clark have now offered to have it taken to a specialist of my choice to be put right and they will pay the bill. seriously interested in this option if it means getting to keep my albi blue!
yeah mate the 200 is awesome, ive just had that much bother with it i want it gone, its going in next week to get put right by my local specialist and arnold clark are paying the bill so will see how i feel after that, but i recon after a few months ill possibly swap it. car just feels tainted...
