my ph1 is going nuts, if you lock it it goes nuts and alarms, then sometimes it will last 2 or 3 days and then go bonkers alarming its nuts off! been fine for over a year and recently developed this. not sure if this makes a difference but its recently had a brand new battery about 2 months...

ive never had a "tuning package" done however i have done all they mods you are considering to my last 172. spent a lot gained a bit. ive got another 172 now. will i do it all again? yes. power figures alone make it look a waste of money, difference in drivability makes it worth while

i insured my mrs on my ph2 172 the day she passed her test at 17, she cut about in it for 4 or 5 months before we bought the 1.6 16v for her! she was fine, knew id kill her if she marked or kerbed it. she can drive the ph1 properly too, blips on down shifts too just need to learn her heel and toe!

yeah likely, everyones different obviously but i find the seats in our 1.6 16v dynamique cumfyer than my ph1 seats and i find them cumfyer than my GT seats which ive never warmed to for some reason!

nope starts boosting from a smudge under 1500rpm and then you get a big kick from 2000rpm when it goes on full boost, i think the 86 just uses a fixed geometry turbo.

i thought that controled the sensitiveness (is that a word?!) of the auto wipers?

they dont boost till 2000rpm?!?! i thought it was a small turbo?! the big variable geometry bad boy on my GT is boosting from 1500rpm!
