Probably me, did 4 sessions. It's totally standard apart from the Eibach springs. Was with me Skoda mates and got totally trounced by a couple off tuned Fabias of over 245bhp. and one with 275bhp. and shed loads of torque.
172Cup or Phase 1 172, preferrably wthout a/c as you will be dumping that. The 2.0L major engine parts are usually trouble free, only real abuse will upset it. The bits around it are the ones normally needing attention. As you are obviously confident around engines you won't have much trouble...
Virgin for you, as you have to share with yer mates, purely for the bandwidth. Customer service is not that good, however for the price and speed will be best for you all.
Yes it is a simple change as long as you have a large 30mm. socket to undo the hub nut and a torgue wrench to tighten when you are done. I have no idea what discs they could be or how good but Renualt oe's are good and if you want cheap and adequate then GSF (Cliosport Discount as well) do...
If you buy a used car then it will have part worn tyres on it. At least buying part worn off the wheels you can see what you are getting for your money.
If money is a problem then plenty of us Cup owners have some oe springs lying around, for free. If you want something 100% better then buy some Eibach's.
Try Comma Syner-g, 5/40, fully synthetic. You can buy it from Local car parts shops. According to Fred@ BTM its the same as Mobil oil. I use it on my Cup ok and it is relatively cheap.
If you don't fancy the the courtesy car thats on offer, then say to the service manager you are thinking of changing your car in the near future and would like to try one of the new demonstrators. Have a look in the showroom and see which model you would like to try, if the demo car is available...
Steering rack mounting rubbers? Someone else had similar probs to you on this forum recently and it was down to the rack rubbers and with 170k miles under its belt these things need checking.
Have to agree with this, And luckily haven't wasted any money yet. There are quite a few mods that are quite useless on this forum. Some people just don't listen and spend even more dosh correcting there own mistakes.
Now where can I buy those 18" rims :)
The 200 Cup is only 7mm. lower than the normal 200. So HR springs will lower it a bit more. Found this out on the 197/200.net. Have a look on there for more info.
Nuts? You got them. Put spring on strut, top cover on, nut on, bearing on, then wack it the strut into the top mount, top hat on and the nut lastly. You may need spring compressors to get the spring, top plate and nut on. Secure the bottom of strut with the 2 large bolts and nuts, job done.
