    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Well now that it's all together and working I thought I'd put up the full spec list. All the parts are brand new apart from the exhaust and manifold really so its like a new car to drive, absolutely fantastic! I've probably missed bits off too! Engine:- Piper cams ALD ported head...

    Borg and beck clutch kit

Yes just the standard B&B one. About £80 off ebay. (I think I found mine cheaper by searching the part number rather than one for a Clio)

    Borg and beck clutch kit

Mine is just fine! Had good experience with them in the past too where the types of LUK would slip and the B&B were fine.

Re: Ph1 172 Do they suffer from surge problems? I fancy a better inlet at some point. ITBs have the downfall of needed an aftermarket ECU and the RS2 is expensive.

    DTM turboed Black Gold 182

No, he wants a lightened flywheel and crank. And getting a 197 crank at -1.5kg would be a better start than the 182 crank. That's what I was getting at.

    MarkCup's Fiesta ST

Glad to hear all went well on track :) What tyres and pads were you running? They reviewed the Mountune kit in the latest Top Gear mag and loved it.

    DTM turboed Black Gold 182

I didn't say that. I was just helping out with info to satisfy the spec list from the OP.

    DTM turboed Black Gold 182

I have been informed by NorthLoopCup the Clio 197 crank is 1.5kg lighter :) Unfortunately I found out too late to get one for mine but it would be a better starting point for you.

Waterpump lost a fin and it's lost forever.

I bought a cambelt and waterpump kit for my Focus a couple of months back and the pump was damaged like that. Luckily I noticed and got a replacement sorted. So it might not be in the engine or coolant system.

    4 pot sizing

I remember reading a guide by Rally Design a few years ago about choosing the right piston size for 4 pots. See here http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/pdf/designing_4_pot_brakes.pdf Now it says for working out a suitable 4 piston replacement for single piston callipers with sliders that the area of...

Re: Ph1 172 Not had a chance to fit the seats, and nowhere to do it either at the moment :| I did get a chance to swing by Buckley tyres and have the camber bolts set up though. The most I could get on the drivers side was 1 degree 50 minutes (1.83 deg. decimal) so the passenger side was...

    R26 engine and gearbox in a 182

EBay intercooler and decent beaded pipework. Hydraulic clutch conversion isn't that bad. You could modify your existing pedal box to take a girling cylinder.

    R26 engine and gearbox in a 182

I could have a pair of shafts made for around £200-£250

Peak power RPM difference between Rolling roads

I got the same figures as Andyman got on the same rollers 4 years ago with the same mods. So maybe its just the way they run them there.

Peak power RPM difference between Rolling roads

184 bhp and 173 lb/ft. That's with the cams, ported head, 182 manifold, matched inlets and ITG filter behind the headlight. I could take it on other rollers and make more power though!

    Thoughts on these cams

The cams are the same as the Catcams 428. For another £20 or so you can have the Piper cams. They are the next step up before going to Catcams 421

Peak power RPM difference between Rolling roads

I've had this on a previous car. Peak at 6600 when it was mapped and the next place I took it to it was 7000. Just had my 172 set up on the Pipers and peak is at 6400 on the Dyno Dynamics rollers at RS Tuning.

    My Alfa Romeo 147 GTA.

I'd have gone a gunmetal colour but they look ok. I love the GTA, lovely car and oh the noise from the 3.2! I was at one point debating one of these, a Mk1 FRS or a R26. I never tried one with a Q2 but I can imagine it makes a great deal of difference as I could feel the difference with the...

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco I went from new standard mounts and a poly dogbone to the vibratechnics mounts and it's loads better. Not too stiff and no noticeable vibration either. What ram pipes have you got in the fogs? I've tried a couple of different ones but none of them fit nicely.
