    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Making a start on getting the track seats in. Bought a pair of OMP subframes and I marked them off after a long day, needless to say I drilled the holes in the wrong place... should have double checked! Anyway the seats are fitted to them now so hopefully by the end of this week...

    Harnesses

For the lap belts that should bolt around the handbrake area, how have you guys fixed them? Is it a case of drilling a hole behind the handbrake and getting a load spreading plate or can I fix them somewhere else? To the subframes perhaps.

Re: Ph1 172 Yes it has :) well, safer than the standard valves anyway! 173lb/ft, can't grumble at that. I was hoping for 160lb/ft and it does over 160 from 4500-6000 so very happy with that. I can't tell you how it goes though :( I haven't taken it over 3500! The gearbox is leaking oil from...

Re: Ph1 172 Yeah I'd have expected about 160-165 as standard. So about 20bhp for the mods I've done is bang on the money IMO. Say 5bhp for the inlets and filter, 10bhp for the cams, 5bhp for the exhaust and sports cat. The headwork won't have increased the power output but it will have helped...

Re: Ph1 172 No, but the figures are more realistic than most ;) And my only real expense on modifications are the ported inlets, cams, 4-2-1 and sports cat, so £600 for them isn't too bad. The head is so well priced and has been reconditioned with supertech valves and new seals and the engine...

Re: Ph1 172 No, fueling with the fastchip map was fine. Paul has increased the ignition advance and sorted the fueling to suit. I'll let you know when the gearbox is fixed :(

Re: Ph1 172 It's all setup now and running nicely Some bad news though. Gearbox diff seal on the drivers side is leaking so had to take it easy coming home :(

    Throttle Bodies ECU question (again)

Adaptronic for £1100 fitted and mapped at EFI Parts. Chris can wire it so you can revert back to the standard ECU if required. He was going to do this for me before I sold the ITBs.

Re: Ph1 172 Maybe it all just needed bedding in a bit. Gave it progressively hard driving and if feels amazing now :D The induction noise from the ITG filter is lovely :)

Re: Ph1 172 I miss mine too :( the Clio is a much better road car though and I'm sure it can be more than capable on track :) Speaking of which I'll have my track buckets fitted next week ready for the next track day. They arrived today and only weigh 8kg each which I'm happy with. Just...

    What should this plug into?!

Yes all the aircon bits are off the car so that would make sense :)

Re: Ph1 172 Cheers guys. Can't wait for Friday...2 more sleeps! Going to check all the tyre pressures in case that's affecting the way it drives, and I'll have a go pushing it around some twisties if it dries up. The only things that have changed are all the steering components and the Quaife.

Got my car back today and this was pointed out to me, any ideas where it goes?

Re: Ph1 172 Got it back today! It's a fair bit louder than it used to be. It's also quicker (been taking it easy until the remap though) and the gearing with the shorter final drive is much, much better. The lightened flywheel makes pulling away in 1st a little more difficult but nothing...

Re: Ph1 172 It runs again! All it needs is the subframe bolting back on and the radiator, hoses and front end reattaching. Very happy it runs ok though!Moved the ECU and tidied up the wiring for the new battery New battery 182 manifold and ktec sports cat, fits nicely. More photos tomorrow...

I thought it looked great already but that's much better!

    ktec sports cat?

You'll get a couple of bhp and more noise from the decat.

    HTC One or iPhone 5?

HTC one or S4. Both are pretty good, tough choice between the two tbh. iPhone....no

    Bimarco Dakar and Expert

I'm looking at a pair of seats for trackdays and the Bimarco Dakar or Expert look decent enough and work out well priced coming direct from Bimarco. I'm not a fatty so the Futura are too wide. Bimarco reckon the Dakar suits 30-32" waist and the expert is 32-34. I'm a 32 and my wife is smaller...

    225 Clio Build

    225 Clio Build

I'm going down to the garage tomorrow to see how its getting on. I was very clear I needed it for the weekend so fingers crossed its done by late Saturday morning. Out of interest what's it cost you to do the 225 conversion all in?

    225 Clio Build

Very tidy build. Would look even better with all hard boost pipes!

My home made intake made today :)

Nice work! Looks a bit better flowing that the Ktec kit as the bends aren't as tight. Look forward to seeing the gains you get on the dyno. Top job :)

    ktec sports cat?

I've had a couple of sports cat over the years. Always worked fine. Only time I failed the MOT it was a dodgy lambda sensor. The 182 already has a sports cat, the only restrictive bit is the pipe on the back. I'd just go to an exhaust place and get the to fit a bigger diamater pipe to match the...
