Great job Russ, it didnt look "bad" pre detail- but looks s**t hot after you have seen to it!
Its dissapointing not being able to ask for pics of the missus, as there's some there already and to make it worse she's cool as feck cleaning and polishing making tea and food and rather fit to boot...
Spot on here!
Smaller cars like mk5 fiestas get away with mondeo wheels, the ST with its bigger arches needs the cossie's. They are 8j if I remember right and take a fair bit of work to look and work right- but are definately worth it.
Lose the stripes is a definate though.
Have you...
If that's the setup your trophy had when i had a ride in it at south sheilds then you need to replicate that! Your car was sublime then and I've never been in a more solid feeling and looking Clio, much better than any coil over setup I've been in and that includes expensive ones.
On my mk5 fiesta ZS...
Car £4500
Engines £6000? (1x replacement 1.6 lump then a FRP lump)
Modifications £5000
Maintenance £3000
All in the space of around 18months, the car was gonna get crushed due to an altercation with the boys in blue... So I swapped it for a Ibiza Cupra which I sold for...
I was in the 172 cup with the black bonnet coming towards you on east lea bank, pretty sure I saw the forum stickers in ya rear quarters ;) cars looking smooth, a damn sight nicer than the Clio which was infront of you.
I can respect the work that's gone into it, and realise it's a scene thing that I'm not particularly into. But that makes little difference and my opinion of it is that's it's a standard looking heap in the first picture, and a modified undriveable heap in the subsequent pictures.
Still ain't resolved this, I'm thinking a mobile mechanic is my only option short of me changing the hub myself "if" I can get the wheel off. Gonna have another go on Wednesday and result to a mechanic on Thursday if I have no joy.
Can anyone from the north east recomend me a good mech who can...
My local garage manic motors is no more, i trusted them with my cars for the last 4-5 years so im really dubious over taking it to anywhere else, too many cowboys! I'm OK with my tools and have done similar jobs, just need to know if there's a winning method for this or if it's a case of...
One snapped when I was swapping wheels over, didn't have the torque wrench so I used a wheel brace- mistake no. 1
I didn't replace it straight away and droves to Leeds on only 3, heard a knocking appear after a couple of fast corners so pulled over- noticing i was down to 2. Couldn't really...
Blow torching and welding aren't option as I own neither bits of kit or have access to them. Locking wheel nut remover set didn't come close to removing these nuts as they are mcguard ones and pretty hardcore, plus the sets are £50 and don't always work = a waste of money to me.
I have an...
Here's the predicament...
3 snapped front wheel bolts (1 of which is a snapped locking nut)
1 locking wheel nut stuck on with no mcguard tool to remove
The options I've started going through are;
Rag the wheel and try to snap the remaining bolt off then attempt to drill out 4 snapped...
I live in Boldon just down the road from shields mate, often in the seafront area :)
Drive a 172 cup with a black bonnet and roof sitting loophole on black wheels.
I'd love to have my iPad in the car, sitting in the traffic queues playing angry birds HD would make me a happy man... However I live in Newcastle, so it's a stupid idea for me as it would be stolen instantly :(
