what are you on about with these constant fault? ive had none in my years of mk2 clio ownership, had a couple of majour ones on my 1.2 16v but that was on 140k miles and was sorted cheaply anyway!
my 172 has been 100% reliable
it needs atleast £3,000 to do it properly imo which isnt worth it considering you can have a mint 172 for 5k!! and a mk1 172 for even cheaper!
by the time u get bumpers, skirts, wings, wheels, then paint on top of that inc spoiler and bump strips getting colour coded then you need a set of...
relocated induction kit like above will loose you low down torque, which is what your looking to gain!
i put a full stainless steel system on mine with decat, ITG pannel filter and modified the airbox so it would flow more air and a bigger cold air feed and it was pretty quick for what it was...
think its been done but not sure if its fully done before ie interior the lot
for interior you'll need...
front and rear seats
front and rear doorcards
steeringwheel
dash inserts
could get the dials too! not that their much different
ohh and matts
theres probably more but thats all i can...
much better getting one without a sunroof like you say as they dont creak or even worse leak! lol
what you doing about interior? replica in there too?!
what tyres are on it, if its got shite tyres it wont put the power down regardless of the tred. i had Kumho's on my 1.2 16v and it couldnt get the power down in first gear or 2nd in the wet, Eagle F1's on my 172 and you can get full throttle right the way thru first gear without it braking...
i loved my black dynamique cant think of a better first car, loved every minute of it. cheap to run, insure, tax, fix, even at 17!!
although if i was to go for it again id get a DCi 80 instead of a 1.2 16v, even more economical cheaper to tax, and much more torque
get one with cambelt already done unless the price is low for age/condition.
check the exhaust as most of them fall off! so if it hasnt done already it may be about to!
leaking rear dampers are also another thing to look for although a cheap fix, worth looking for none the less.
Make sure...
to make it look like standard 172 ride height go for -40mm but id go for -60mm for the slightly lower look.
you need arch liners yes as far as i know.
its a lot of money for a replica but if your not bothered about performance then go for it you need.....
front bumper (may aswell get cup...
a gearbox problem on a 172? never?! lol
yeah they are a common weakness, replace the box is really the only way, and then be more carefull with the next one, i went thru 2 on my 1.2 16v in a year
if you want low dont get 40mm they hardly look any lower from some angles! i had the apex -60mm ones on my 1.2 16v with the apex dampers and even that didnt sit that low! so i went to coilovers.
but tbh, for handling go for eibach for lowness apex -60mm
they dont half cost a fair bit with options, i was pricing one up on the net earlyer and it came to about £19,000! lol
id want xenons, recaros, white wheels, climate and cup chassis, in black of course!
na dont really want to go with aftermarket management, just thought cams would be worth while since the cambelt was getting done anyway but dont want to go spending mega money.
