i would if i could insure something jap lol.
so basically cams arnt worth it? the actual power gain didnt bother me it was the extra low down torque that sounded nice.
insurance is only £1200 fully comp now that im 19 with 1yrs ncb, thats why im looking at getting the cambelt done and cams etc
although starting to think best bet is to do the cambelt myself (and just take the plunge and buy the tools) stick a 182 manifold on it, decent exhaust, inlets done...
lol "the rally" is too loud and the stealth (which does EXACTLY what a stealth should do, ie low noise, and is hidden) doesnt give the power gain im looking for)
the stealth is perfect but just dont really want to fit cams, 182 manifold etc etc to fit an exhaust that wont give me the power...
fitting isnt a problem i can do all the fitting myself (cams at a push if i bought the tools) its the mapping, i just wanted to save the hastle and get it all done at once and save me the hastle!
yozza stealth is the exhaust id get BUT i want a better power gain, but its an option.
ali, what...
My cambelts due soon and looking at getting it done + some other goodys at the same time!!
looking at getting...
Fast road cams
182 manifold
sports cat
mapping
Going to Prospeed for a catback i think but just need a reliable tuner to do the above work, had spoke to GDi about it but after...
pinky, i counted that at 13 seconds too. i counted it from when you appear to lift the clutch.
heres my old one before the exhaust and decat so was only running a filter and fully stripped...

lol people on here speak as if the 172 is a complete animal that no one under 21 can handle!
its a much more planted and better handling car than your old one you crashed ESP/ABS etc will do more to save your arse, and like you say you've learned your lesson, and you'll behave yourself!
i...
FK's go low enough for the front splitter to touch the ground! its the rears that are the problem as foxy says think they only go to about 65-70mm or there abouts
its the same basic engine so yes it will fit, BUT its not worth it, they run a stupid low boost so not worth it.
the problem with running higher boost is the plastic inlet manifold, if you fit a bigger turbo then you would probably blow it to pieces!! thats before we get to the internals!
deffo go for a closed type filter like the viper or bmc, the open filters such as the K&N will just suck in hot air and loose you power and torque due to the heat soak.
if noise doesnt bother you then just go for a panel filter in the standard airbox which will give a very minimal power gain.
no no, they are still an option but just not sure if they are really worth the extra, i dont like replacing things with something the same i prefer to go for something better so was going to go for the cup dampers as they are slightly better but if theres not really any noticeable difference...
my 16yr old mrs loves driving mine haha!
mum hates it though "it feels to powerfull" shes scared of it at junctions lol says you just touch the accelerator and it shoots off, wish it felt like that to me feels slow now im used to it lol
rear dampers are gone so ordering 172 cup ones to replace them but fancy changing the fronts while im at it since the cars now 5 years old and coming up on 40k (also doing bottom arms, suspension top mounts, track rod ends etc)
was thinking of going for koni adjustables like i had on my last...
