I did 5000 road miles & several trackdays on Hankook rs2's, they are excellent.

The R888's have more grip but at least your car don't sound like a landrover while driving :rasp:
I did 5,000 miles on road & 2 trackdays. Donington national & the GP.
Tyres were fine.
Only had one moment on wet roads but that was caused by a diesel spill.
Ask inferno as he's had his longer, my car was sold 2 months ago. The new owner thought it handled like it was on rails compared...
My standard 197 could do 10-15 laps of Donington GP easy.
My modified Trophy was struggling after 7.
Defo nicer place to be & balance is great.
In the wet the 197 was awesome even on R888's.
At RWS 2006 the head of Renaultsport France spoke to Nik, myself & a few others as we were standing by our Trophy's.
He explained how they were motorsport derived & rebuilding them was part of ownership.
I believe 30,000 was the point mentioned.

The Toyos have the upper hand on track but at twice the price, but...
Last yr i had a 1.8 sport for 5 months & absolutley loved it.
When you consider i had, had a trophy for 3yrs the MX5 was pure fun.
Gearbox was a dream, sitting position perfect.
Not the quickest but for pure feedback excellent.
They are also bullet proof & almost 0 depreciation.

Climate not working.
Alloys flaking.
Irregular paint finishes.
Front headlights marking wings.
Gearbox issues early mods.
Some drink oil.
The list goes on, mine was a 197 Cup & was faultless.

If you sit in the seat & rub your hands on the bolsters you can feel the seat frame if it has burst through the foam.
