in 2004 (i think) renault changed the 1.2 16v engine slightly for one with a different inlet manifold, throttle body and ecu. think that was all that was changed, i might be wrong tho.
had a shot of a car with one of these engines yesterday and realised that it was actually a bit faster than...
i dont have a trip computer but i know somethings up with the car because dont think i should only be getting 260-270 miles to a full tank, anyone care to work out how many mpg that is?
my mums got 4 different tyres on the dynamique, everyone the cheapest the garage had at the time, things all over the place in the wet lol, nearly spun it on a roundabout at 30mph (usually take it at about 60mph in mine) in the wet!
you dont have to take the maifold off to replace the plugs?
14mm socket to undo the plugs then used a thin snap-on torch which has a magnet on the end to pull them out lol
think i payed about £14-£15 for my filter or there abouts maby less maby more cant quite remember, they will have them in stock id have thought since its done on all services.
We put a 2.0 red top in a corsa a couple of weeks ago in a double garage with no engine crane.
just dropped the front end of the car right on the ground, unbolted engine then got couple of guys to lift front end of car over engine and we took 1.2 16v engine out from underneath then same way to...
not bothered about top speed just need it to accelerate quickly thats why i thought the JB1 would be the best, plus ive already got one with only 9,000 miles on it! would a JB1 handle 130-140bhp?
anyone know the difference between the JB1 and JB3 Gearboxes.
Would b helpful to know...
what makes the JB3 stronger
what the differences in ratios are (eg. is there much difference in acceleration with them)cheers,
martin
they took the engine out to do a cambelt?!?!?!?!
cant beleive they are charging you that much to do a waterpump when they are doing the cambelt anyway!
i love renault sometimes, they wanted to cut a hole in my mates bonnet to fix a broken bonnet release cable, wanted to charge him for new...
its more a sound clip than a video guys, dont care how it looks just like the sound lol.
yep 1.6 going in next month, dont know if this exhaust will fit the 1.6 or not.
looking for some pictures of 1.6 16v K4M Engines to get ideas and do some photoshops. looking at having the engine cover done pearl black and getting a metal polisher to do the the engine mounts and fuel rail cover (is that what its called?)
im using EBC GreenStuff, hardly any brake dust compaired to standard pads (standards only other pads ive tried)
stop the car VERY well when warmed up, paired with BlackDiamond fast road drilled & Grovved disks
i removed back seats, rear door cards, spare wheel, toolkit, all plastics and carpet from the boot/back and mine was a good bit quicker at getting going, didnt feel much different when it was rolling (only louder lol) but nailing it out junctions etc there was a big difference.
Ben, how long would you need the car/engine parts of the K4M engine to do headwork & manifold work (i can eather remove the parts and send them to you to have work done then refit myself or drive the full car down to have the work done, just depends on cost/time etc, would you be able to PM me...
