I had a Brian James Micromax (or minnow - who her it was) and that fitted in a single garage.
it was an old house though, 50’s, so not sure how small a new build garage is?
Not a Gti, but I went from a mk5 gt-d to a mk6 gt-d.
apart from the styling I can’t tell any difference. They drive exactly the same, even though the mk5 had 170k to the mk6 I have now that has 96k they are identical to drive. 😂
It’s really weird, the front of my car and the whole top half is still really clean. The lower half and the back of it are hanging.
I don’t get why the top of it has stayed so clean in comparison.
With all due respect, I’ll take his word for it seeing as he rebuilds them for a living. And I’ve had 4 done this year alone.
I’m sure there probably are some good ones out there. They made enough of them so you’d like to think a few are still going.
No no, I’m using my good friend who works at Milta.
he said that if you buy a brand new car with a DSG gearbox and have it serviced every 2 years, it will probably last forever. But skip just one of those services and it will break. And seeing as most of the brand new cars are lease/company...
There used to be a guy that ran an MX5 race car/team. He used to sell loads (and I mean LOADS!) on eBay. If it’s the same bloke, they’re really good tyres, all worn evenly etc.
I think I had a similar outfit a couple of years back. The best money I ever spent I think. Super warm, waterproof, and just brilliant all round.
i must get some new ones, I don’t know what happened to them.
If you can’t afford it or have no car, just ring me. I’ll pick you up on the way through. I’m going to book a full day so you can drive in the AM or PM and I’ll do the other,
If you’re worried about mechanical uncertainty of an older Porsche, frying Pan and fire springs to mind with any JLR product, and that’s before we even think about depreciation.
takes a brave/rich man to buy a jag over a Porsche.
On the subject of tyres, What’s everyone using for tyre cleaning?
my current go to is G101 a d a nail brush. Which is fine for stock cars but when I’m cleaning my own car twice a week in this weather, I’m worried I’m degrading the tyres prematurely as it’s nasty stuff.
