    Must have upgrades

if i was in your possition and had just bought a standard 172 cup i would buy... Sportlines, inspect rear dampers to see if they are worth replacing (front too while your at it, but rears are more likely to be shot) ITG pannel Filter, Samco Induction Bend, RS Tuner to give it a 98ron fuel...

    Anyone used Koni STR.T Dampers?

ordered a set today for the DCi 100 as the standard ones are shot, £260 all round was resonable i thought! going on with the current Eibach Sportlines thats already on it

    bye bye EK9

yeah it could do with a bit more, the long term plan is to 16v it but for now hes happy with it. was a bit skitish for liftoff oversteer but now its extremely grippy, id go as far as saying it has more grip than the ek9!!

do i go for the gt

exactly the weight kills it, hence why the twingo with "only" 130bhp is a riot. people laugh when i say how genuinely quick my dci 100 is but the twingo is a perfect example. my car weighs 980kg with around 125-130bhp so just under the twingo yet 190lb/ft of torque!
  11. Martin_172

do i go for the gt

keeping in mind christopher is coming from a 182 into a 1200kg 130bhp car, its never going to feel quick
  12. Martin_172

do i go for the gt

doesn't it use the 197 box?

    Kumho ECSTA MX KU15

yes and im lucky i lived to be fair! they were ok in the dry but dangerous in the wet, i cant stress how bad they were, my dci 65 with cheap £15 a corner tyres had more grip in the wet.

  15. Martin_172

    bye bye EK9

yep thats the one, still in the same spec really apart from new bilstein dampers all round as the old ones were getting a bit tired and a set of Advan A048 tyres, you would not beleive the grip it has with them on it lol valve stem oil seals are gone on it too so hes got a full gasket and seal...

    Running Costs

being honest all petrol mk2 clios are completely shite on fuel, infact the 172 is the only one that is surprizingly good, i took my 172 to work the other day a 30 mile drive of part motorway, part b roads and wasnt driving hard yet wasnt really holding back and averaged 38mpg! my 100 however...
  17. Martin_172

    Running Costs

  26. Martin_172

do i go for the gt

  27. Martin_172

  28. Martin_172

do i go for the gt

assuming your vvt comment is a joke? lol
  29. Martin_172

do i go for the gt

body roll isnt a bad thing though as long as its controlled, my standard 100 used to have quite a bit of body roll but it was controlled and still had plenty grip. people seem to think that because a car has bodyroll it doesnt handle.
