    The new TV thread

Hi all, Currently looking into getting a replacement TV for our ageing 50" Samsung in the main room. Ideally, we're looking to increase it slightly to 55" and aiming for a budget of around £1k. Are there any suggestions from the wise tech-people here on CS of some good tellys out there? It...

    Tough decisions

Is another option to put it in storage? If you like the car that much and it's clearly a coveted example - I'd be looking into keeping it, but off the road.

    GTA 6

I have to admit, Rockstar did an amazing job of squeezing the X360 hardware to the limit in order to get GTAV running on it. They might have some other dev trickery up their sleeves in order to get GTAVI running half-decent on current-gen consoles?

    GTA 6

The attention to detail is crazy. 1st pic.... Then in the 2nd pic, you notice the pervy bloke using his camera phone....

??? I disagree. Rockstar is doing a good job at teaching kids valuable life skillz.

Proof that Stallone might like men. Aside from the nonce socks & shoes combo - facing Sandra and looking at the wrong part of her? Get a grip man!

Pretty much sums up online play across the board for me these days!

Me neither. You've been unfortunate enough to be that 1-in-1,000 customer where seemingly everything has gone wrong.

nice to meet you. from japan(Green Clio200)

Welcome aboard shigeo! :) Are Renaults expensive to own and run in Japan?

What have you done to your car today ???

Cleaned the windscreen today and finally removed my tax disc holder from the inside of it. An increase of £105 in the last 9 years. Robbing coonunts.

    Assetto Corsa Competizione

I wanted to assume that they had tweaked the Porsches as they had gone from being my favourite to being really quite crap with them. That probably explains it. The opposite of that is that my mate has really got used to the Porsches - and I struggle to match him on track. I'm still a good...

    Assetto Corsa Competizione

I found the McLaren to be the most forgiving, if that's the right word? Quick, controllable and behaves itself through the corners. Although rewarding, the Porsches can be a bit of a handful - oversteering badly if you lift off and difficult to catch. (for me anyway!)

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

The thing is, the steering and pedal control becomes much more naturally quicker I find, than with keyboard. And now that you've got the fixed seating position, you'll end up using it more. The convenience of not having to set anything up and to literally sit down and drive, it so worth it.

Anyone know what fittings are needed for front arch liners?

Ordered all three - the two sets of fittings from eBay and the Autodoc listed clips. (y)

Anyone know what fittings are needed for front arch liners?

Even better. I've got an Autodoc account - so might nab those instead. Hopefully, they should arrive before Easter.... ;)

Anyone know what fittings are needed for front arch liners?

Thanks all - I'll get some of those ordered. @Mr Underhill - are these the clips that yourself and @Ol’ Tarby refer to?

    Assetto Corsa Competizione

That sounds good. I'm definitely a rookie at best, but still like to have some short races on various circuits. Just a shame that I have a complete and utter dislike towards Discord. I must have installed that thing half-a-dozen times and then removed it in short order. The epitome of bloatware...

Anyone know what fittings are needed for front arch liners?

Hi all, Does anyone know if the arch liners have a fitting kit of fastenings? I've got two new liners for my 182, but no fastenings for them. Cheers.

    Wipers stopped working, burning smell. Clio mk2 2005 1.2 16v 5d

It could simply be due to age? After all, the car is likely to be as old as you! ;) Glad you got it sorted though - you can't be without wipers at this time of year.

    GTA 6

Still never finished GTAV - and the majority of what I played was on the 360. Got a PC now that can finally do it justice, and I've hardly touched it. :P

    Wipers stopped working, burning smell. Clio mk2 2005 1.2 16v 5d

The linkage can detach in freezing weather, which it hasn't been yet. Had that myself and it's simple to reattach. Regreasing the joints on the wiper mechanism does help considerably too. If you end up removing the wiper mechanism itself, which is easy to do once the wipers have been detached...

    Newbie with a 182

Welcome. :) Sounds like you're making good on a neglected 182 there. Be careful though - once you start to make small changes, the urge to do more to the car is a bit infectious. I still have a list of things that I'd like to do to mine, nearly 19 years on.... :P

    Desktop/monitor speakers, maybe a soundbar?

I think spatial audio in terms of headphones was a game changer for me - from the music perspective that is. I don't think I could ever go back to just standard 'stereo' headphones now. That said, when you get a purpose-built room with the correct speaker setup, they do sound amazing. I'm one...

    Desktop/monitor speakers, maybe a soundbar?

What about premium headphones instead? I'm no audiophile either - but I find headphones way more immersive than a traditional speaker setup. They also have the added benefit of playing an FPS quite loud and not pissing off my neighbours. :P

    Clock/radio display removal?

I was dreading doing this when the clock display started to fade on the left side. By coincidence, my battery started to fail and a week or two later I got that swapped out. Instantly the display was all clear again - just so glad I didn't start the hassle of taking the dash apart prior to then!

Any ideas on this noise - bearings?

Welcome. :) From my experience, when the wheel bearings start to go, you get more of a droning noise, rather than a squeal/squeak like this. Could be a shim on the brakes catching perhaps?
