nothing really left to do Neil mate, so i'm just whoring the wheels around, got some turinis, some willy wheels and some 2118's on stock as well to sling on it at some point, see what she looks like!
track days and road blasts, just enjoying it now really, its a right giggle and love it just as...
Decided for a bit of a change i'd pop the silver superlegs on the mk 1, gives me a chance to clean and seal the black ones as they've not had a proper clean since i had them refurbed couple of years back :-)
anyway, no more waffle, pics, comments welcome :-)
cheers
Ben
Nice buy man, I was in talks with the chap you bought it off a while back, very nearly pulled the trigger but decided to hold out for a FF spec RB :) I love the powdercoated bay, safe to say mine will get same treatment when I get it :)
popular are mongoose and magnex, both are a bit droney rather than raspy though and imo the mongoose tailpipe is too big, the magnex looks much better on the car.
if you want noisey/raspy then a scorpion or even if you feel v brave an oreca will do the job ;)
I use heavy duty velcro, works a treat and means plate can be removed for cleaning behind it, put back on, swapped wasily for show plate/track plates (or no plate) etc etc
they do go for more cash tbh, but imo they are worth the extra, i love the colour and looked at a few none RB's before being completely sure nothing else would do
and white wheels against it look brilliant, no matter what haters/its been done before opinionated buggers think! :)
as above, dont go mad with stickers, its just not really 2012, mid 90's maybe, but not really scene anymore ;)
personally i would skip the tints and IK as well, but that more personal preference, it wont look too bad if thats your think and tbh IK makes them sound rude, just not really going to...
I got them off JamesT87 chap, sure he said they used to be 'matthew's' or maybe I misheard!either way said they came from someone on the forum who used to have an RB :)
as above, part number isn't actually required, just get mr Renault to turn the dialogues screen to you and point at what you want :)
Renault parts direct do it too, but I think it may actually be cheaper from the dealer...
seriously??? mine were honestly the worst riding springs I think I have ever had the displeasure of allowing to carry me about, truly shockingly bad. so its mad to hear someone say they are similar to their standard ones. the difference to me was incredible, the 172 on the apex was crashier and...
its not too bad, just a bit fiddly, and ensure you get both shims in, one each side, or all shalt be for nought!
personally for the sake of another 20 odd quid i'd do the calbe too, and ensure the routing is correct, it should drop straight down out the pedal box assembly on the bay side...
pretty sure the pedal assembly kit is available still yes Luke, I have no idea on part number but a search of tech forums on C16v or WC should turn it up
its simple, you look at the damage and make and educated guess as to why it would look like that, its kind of what crash scene investigators do ;) obviously i'm not one of those, i'm just suggesting from the picture what may of occured, I could be very wrong.
clutch is the ratchet on its way out mate, for sure, they teeth on them wear away so it'll be that, get it changed.
as for other niggles, you have mk1 paranoia, its a common thing with old clios, basically until something drops off just turn the stereo up and stop worrying, as otherwise...
well seeing as this seems to be all the rage at the mo, i figured i'd have a dabble and see how i went :)
not too bad for a first attempt i dont think and those little badges are flippin fiddly. i'm not massively happy with the matt finish and no idea how well the vinyl will hold up to exterior...
