Boot-lock not working off the remote (182)

I must have been just bloody lucky with mine then! The one that went last September was the OEM part - and now its replacement has followed suit. No worries - I'll get another ordered. The biggest issue I have with it is getting that tail-gate plastic cover to line back up with the clips!

Boot-lock not working off the remote (182)

Right - this solenoid has gone again - each time it sounds like it's grinding gears when the car is locked/unlocked. I suspect the lovely black crown wheel at the end is gradually getting stripped by the motor gear beneath it. It was barely a tenner for the part back in October - but it worth...

    Cleaning sticky interior trim

I’m just in the lacquer sealing phase of these. One coat on already - I’ll put another on later this evening.... https://www.cliosport.net/threads/painting-182-interior-door-handles.833501/

I learn something new every day! Never knew some models had a speaker there - my certainly doesn't.

    Painting 182 interior door handles?

Next step done. Went over them for a few minutes with a fine grit paper. Got rid of the last bits without any need for further chemicals. Plus, it keyed the plastic a little for the primer - even though it probably didn’t need it. Using the primer, in several light coatings, it certainly...

    JDM Imports - Canada

Literally any car in that collection I’d be driving over into B.C with. I take it that you’ve done that many-a-time with it being on your doorstep? 😎

    Alternator replacement

Not wanting to frustrate you more, but double-check and then double-check again. It took a Renault dealership three attempts to get the correct one for mine. Now they could have just been plain numpties and ordered a bin bag and a block of cheese on the first two attempts. But I got the...

    Painting 182 interior door handles?

To be fair Mossy, I put them in a warm bucket of hot water and Fairy liquid mix and left for an hour. Came back with a sponge scourer and the result on the right was literally a couple of minutes of going over with the sponge. I'd say it's got rid of at 95%+ of the sticky crap that was on there...

Noise while pulling away / low speed manoeuvring

Does sound brake/calliper related. As @Conor L says - a simple temperature check might help track down the issue. Be careful though, I've done it in the past where my fingers got too close to a calliper and those things can get HOT. Alternatively - front wheel bearing perhaps? Not sure how they...

    New 182 owner

Morning - and welcome aboard! Was a 182 something you were after a while, or a bit of an on-the-spot purchase? ;)

    Dash clock stopped working

Is the clock off completely? Nothing at all on it? Mine faded at one side on the 182 - so that only half of the display was visible. With any form of backlight coming into the car itself, I couldn't see anything on there. A few months later, I ended up replacing the battery and instantly the...

    Wide boys

I’ll give you that. The 306 doesn’t look ‘that’ bad as such - certainly a hell of an improvement over some 205 examples. I mean, does this come with a free retina transplant with the purchase? So a perfectly fine 205 GTi is wrapped up in this? Like planning a date with a classy model...

    Wide boys

Well - that's me joining the ranks of Savile then. Absolutely detest Dimma kits. For comparison, the hacksaw job that Wayne and his mates do to his 1.1 Peugeot from stolen Ford Focus body panels - look as artistic as the Sistine Chapel. If one word sums up the worst of the peak of the Max...

My Comprehensive Notes from todays Apple WWDC Keynote!

It's funny how we take to things in a different way. I'm the opposite and have a personal iPhone with a works Android phone. I've tried to make my Android phone a bit more iPhone like and simply given up. The interpreted beauty of Android is that it's anything to anyone. They can customise it...

    Painting 182 interior door handles?

Thanks for that - it's something that I want to do. Not fussed about colour-matching as they are scratched/caught with people's nails, rings etc - just something to make them look better than what they do already.

    Painting 182 interior door handles?

Hi all, Just after some advice and suggestions regarding the interior door handles on the 182. We all know about the crappy rubberised, sticky coating that comes on them and I was just after removing them and spraying them matt black. Is there a best-practice to this? Removing the remnants of...

    Scottish highlands drive

Such an epic place to drive - the further north you go, the less traffic and great roads that you seem to get. Loved the drive up to Cape Wrath and the loop back down. I think this was my favourite pic that I took on the trip - just summed up the openness and fun of the roads up there. NEED...
