need to disagree with you there, while it may not make a big difference in a straight line "race" the numbers dont tell the full story i only gained 15bhp and 15lbft with my mods but the difference to the way it drives is unbeleivable it may only pull 4 or 5 car lenghts by 145mph on a standard...
you using a standard filer, i found mine pulled better after 6500rpm with the ITG compaired to the dirtyer standard filter (no experiance with a new standard one)
dci 100 will be more than fast enough upgrade for you.
im used to mine so it doesnt feel as quick anymore but i dont have that torque sensation when i drive the 172 that i used to get when i jumped in it from the 1.2.
my 100 trashes 1.2s no problem pulling all the way to its redline of...
one on the bottom of the airbox goes to the circle hole on the bit of metal that goes all the way round the battery area, top one goes to the thottle body on the inlet manifold and the side one goes to the hose that leads down teh front of the battery to the wheelarch where the acoustic valve is
infront of the battery the airfeed coming out of the airbox pull it out and tuck it to the side.
theres mixed reviews about doing this, yes you get better noise, heat soak isnt really a problem this is where the airfeed comes from on standard non rs clios if you look behind the grill there is...
n2o has come on a lot in the last few years, i think the reason its no widely used is because people would rather spend the money having constant power rather than power that needs refilled all the time! plus a lot of bad press makes it less popular.
ive found this problem to be caused with as described above tdc sensor on all clios not just RS clios, removing cleaning and refitting ususally solves the problem
best bet you can do, which i done was save up and save up and pay your insurance off in one payment when its due for renewal. apart from being cheaper you have more money each month
when i bought my 172 at 18 i was paying £170 a month to my loan, £260 a month insurance then £250 a month fuel £680 a month just to run it, i was making £800 a month at the time leaving me with £120 a month lol. cant beleive i done it now looking back but still would do it if i had to go back...
if a car such as ben's above is mapped to run it then yes their may be a slight performance loss going back to normal fuel but no damage will be caused.
lol @ the people who "INSTANTLY" feel a difference even although the injectors, fuel lines and pump still have the old fuel in them!!
check tyre pressures, 32front 30rear ive always ran on my quick cars but i run 40 all round on the dci for max economy haha
upstream lambda worth a check
due a service? check airfilter.
it wont make 1 single bit of difference, i always used optimax/vpower though but you wont notice a difference.
its RECOMENDED you use 98ron, its not mapped for it! take it to india and run it on there cooking oil and you might notice a difference but it wont damage it, its not a 500bhp turbo...
id avoid the autentique crappy spec thats before you get to that terrible 8v engine and thats nothing to do with performance!! the 16v although bassed on the same engine is a big improvement not just in power as like you say its only for a 17yr old but ive found it more refined (if you can call...
there is very little days in the winter up here where it is dry and not greezy surfaces where you can get the full potential out of a 172, although granted there is some. all my mates have winter cars so ive got no one to go out a blast with so it doesnt get any proper use so i dont see the...
well you know how i feel dont you like that feeling of having a complete minter of a car plus makes it a hell of a lot easier when it comes to working underneath as everything comes off easy peasy!!!
like you say about garaging a williams, same goes for all the other mint classic hatches...
if there is no specialists around your area get a renault garage to do it, they arnt easy and if the garage doesnt have the correct tools you will end up with problems.
cambelt change from renault on them is around £600 ish for both aux and cam belt
