first time ive gave the dci100 a proper push down a fast road was quite impressed by it, didnt go over the top due to cheap tyres but pushed pretty hard and it went well all that torque out the bends!
Fail...
was a good night chippy was good! f@nny was brilliant, anstruther cruise however was not, think the birds in the ka wanted me and allan after our beeping and waving at them coming into anstruther, but their way of impressing us wasnt the best redline past us in a laby 20 times.
good...
surely dci 106 is going to get similar only slightly worse due to weight MPG compaired to my dci100 and i can get 65mpg without to much hastle, driving very quick i get 50+
acceleration wise from the line the high reving 1.6 is going to be quicker but in gear 60+ the dci will pull on it...
id walk away if hes selling within a week of buying lol, howerver i will say personally id just get a 172 rather than a 182, 182 you get fancy colours, if your not into modifying then the 182 is the better car "out the box" but if you have plans on changing springs etc then i wouldnt bother with...
check for the exhaust system blowing around the centre section and backbox.
leaking rear dampers can be identified by oil and grit all over them.
snapped coil springs
rear disks are pricey so check if they need done, most ive ever seen do!!
again belts is a good bargaining point.
you might find...
its not a house cars loose money, i dont usually bother, if i want something i buy it, usually its worth it anyway, id rather have a 197 while they were newish than have one in 2 years when they are discontinued, out of warranty and someone else has teh newer model in ur street!! maby thats just...
im assuming ph2 gear is easy enough because they use same dash and electrics as a 1.2, ive just shifted the dci so looking to get this underway in next few weeks!
more interior electrics etc as afaik the ph2 runs a uch and the ph1 does not, but again just the conversion in general can a mk1 172 be used for a full conversion to a 1.2? just so i know what im looking for
redline has nothing to do with the engine, the dials in the dynamique go into red the others dont, think your confusing it with the rev limiter? 6250 iirc on all of the 1.2 16vs
really gutted to see this mate, was a cracker at the RR day!
obviously its good to know your ok but again theres no point getting worked up about it, look at it as an excuse to move on, maby a ph2 (mine is for sale ;)) or something completely different!
also if you buy it back with intent...
i find this strange too, i found other iceberg 172s nicer looking when i passed them than mine and i could never work out what it was that seemed nicer, even though mine was mint every one looked cleaner and in better nic but then i saw my mate drive mine past me and realised what a cool looking...
only problem decat caused on my car was awesome noise and 188bhp/160lb/ft :D:D no flatspots for me and dont be so lazy its 4 bolts which are piss easy on a 182!!!
