My mate has his switches on the side of the gearstick surround. One on the left for the passenger and one on the right for the driver.
With low bucket seats they're easier to operate than if they were on the door.
Nice and out of the way too.
Maybe your wife could have a word with my wife??
The chances of her letting me spend 36 hours cleaning my car on my days off are zero!
Looks great though mate. Well done!
Pick any car and the principle is the same though? On this note...
My best mate is restoring a 1 owner from new (his gran) 27,000 mile mk1 fiesta supersport. When it's complete it will be the only one in the world like it and judging by prices of 7 owner 100+ thousand milers, it will be worth...
A 182 engine in its barest form costs £1800. Plus ancillaries.
A bare shell is £1800. Plus doors, glass etc.
The Recaro Seats are £1000 each.
How much is an OE exhaust and Cat? £2000?
You'll need a complete Loom, dashboard, carpets, wheels, tyres, brakes....

Out of those, a 3.2 E36 M3 Coupe for me though. I've never liked the 46 M3. If I was in to new cars I'd have new m3 over the rest of the current M range but even then I'd still rather a C63.
If you can feel it with your fingernail, none.
A professional glass polisher may be able to make it look better, but if it's deep enough to feel, it can't be polished out completely.
(We polish glass at work)
If you don't want to spend the money, Get the head skimmed, new head gasket set, fluid service, then punt it on.
Doing belts etc is pointless (from a cost point of view) unless you're keeping it for years to come.
What would you buy and why?
The only road miles the car sees are to and from the track.
Owner is a very competent driver too.
Car has 56mm bolt spacing.
My Subaru is similar to this. I bought it thinking it only needed a clean and a wheel refurb.
I think I'll end up spending 4x the purchase price just getting it to a standard.
