I don't actually think it's that bad. Once the tyres are on and they're on the car, will you notice?? I doubt it. Put it down to experience and just don't use/recommend them again. As you said, it's a track car. Plus, it was only £180 and they look a million times better than before.

Believe it or not it's a very similar rear suspension set up to a Range Rover. ie there are LOTS of adjusters! That price doesn't surprise me given what BMW charge per hour and they'll only use genuine parts.

They're a standard size. They're a tight fit on heavy duty hose but they work perfectly. I had a Inch thick water main at my last place (mental pressure) and it held up with the water switched on permanently for 2 years.
