In hindsight, the Ubuntu desktop would merely be another 'user', surely? A 'user' who I want to host the sharing folder.
Would be the same as putting the host as Dean who sits next to me?
Networking isn't something I ever got in to, preferred coding/programming although I have half a clue how...
I'm really confused..
I don't need to define a network location anywhere.
I've set up the shared folder on Ubuntu, gone on to a Windows desktop, control panel > network > this is where all computers on network with shared folders/storage are detected.
It's detecting the majority of things but...
Where have I put the network path is "/"? It's all done for you within Windows Network. It'll find the public computer on the network which in this case is the Ubuntu desktop.
Have a desktop running Ubuntu, trying to create a shared folder on there that everyone on works internet can access/modify.
I created the folder on Ubuntu, right click > 'Local Network Share'
It asked me to install a few bits which it did automatically etc.
I went on to a Windows computer...
I was going to use FreeNAS OS but it requires at least 8GB ram for the new distro. This only has 2GB ram. Don't need much storage to be honest. I was going to set up a homegroup on it but that would mean setting everyones laptop(s)/desktop(s)/tablet(s) to "Home" as the wifi group here wouldn't it?
I'm planning a go karting meeting shortly. Should have details by end of this month. I have a OBD reader I could bring along if you're attending and have yet to get your hands on one!
Welcome mate!
Bascially, we all use OneDrive at work so we can go in to the folder, update spreadsheets and everyone has it to hand.
OneDrive is a little bit sh*t. We're also not interested in DropBox.
We have a spare PC which we'd like to turn in to a server of some sort.
How would we go about this?
We...
I'm with Vodafone and genuinely couldn't fault them in the slightest. Data allowance is a bit sh*t despite being "unlimited" but that's all. I've got a booster and get 6GB per month now.
Is that link where it actually takes you? You can spoof the URL.
For example, http://www.cliosport.net
Click that ^^
Or does the email just say that URL?
It's easy to email spoof. It's the website it's taking you to that you need to check. More than likely a phishing page hosted on the back of a stolen server.
It is mental. I thought shops/bodywork people would just be able to repair the area, not have to do the whole bumper. Even if it isn't 100% perfect, you know?
£420 was ChipsAway! Managed to get it down to £330 inc. vat!
They've all said;
'Silver is the hardest colour. It'll look out of place so we may need to blend the bumper etc etc which will cost more'
Mental! Has all the work been done now?
Lowest quote to have the whole bonnet resprayed (as all companies are saying that's what will have to happen) is £420 + VAT!
Jesus! That's a whole loada dollar! I've got a list as long as my arm of mechanical repairs needing doing already.. went to put some screenwash in this morning and noticed that little gem!
