What would you recommend then mate? Reckon a company like ChipsAway could do something like this? Either that or buy a bonnet off someone breaking a Nimbus 197?
Went to put some screenwash in the car this morning and noticed this chip.
It's a little bit smaller than a 5 pence piece I'd say.
Would someone like ChipsAway or whatever they're called be able to repair this?
Needing it done ASAP before it all flakes away!
That's fair enough mate. Each to their own after all.
I saw a little Clio billabong (1.2) the other day.. had absolutely nothing done to it whatsoever barring the 2.0 door bullets.. :l
Wasn't sure if it was deliberate or they'd gone down a breakers yard because their door strips got stolen.. Haha.
Early 2007 models mate, all a bit hit and miss. Some people had problems, some didn't. Mine is 2007 and it's solid.
The bad points to a 197;
Gearboxes
Flexis
Bumper off to change a headlight bulb
Can't swing a tampon in the engine bay
Fair mate. If you want more of a 'toy', then get a 1*2.
I'm not quite sure what is quickest as standard top speed wise. The 1*2 would be quicker on acceleration as it is half the weight.
Depends. 172/182 are more of a go-kart feel to the 197. The top speeds (standard) are almost bang on each other, due to power/weight ratio.
The 197 is more 'grown up' if you like. Packs a lot of power but is all round a lot more comfortable.
Ah, I thought they would have agreed a value over the phone tbh unless they plan on sending an independent 'valuator' to see it. Might just have to do what @Addicted suggested and use the cool down period (14 days) to cancel if they give you some pony quote/price.
Never been a fan of the MK4 Clio front end to be honest. It all looks a bit too much.
The touch screen is a nice addition with the MK4's though, however I'm not sure if it was just a one off but the touch screen inside the hire car I used while Renault were fixing mine seemed awfully buggy.
Surely, and rightly so, they don't agree to the value because of the labour and especially effort put in to it? Every road user, regardless of modifications, has put in their time and effort with their car and unfortunately spent far too much money on labour. I hope you get it sorted however.
Hi,
Our accounts guy at work is doing daily analysis on reasons we have had to issue refunds.
He only started this Monday last week and has done a pivot table every day, the reasons why the refund was issued (generic set through Magento)
His boss has now asked him he wants a full count for...
Hi @rttam ,
RSTuner's write a new map to the ECU.
This basically means they re-write how the computer wants the car to function.
They will benefit you, but how depends on which map you go for.
