Every man and his dog is tuning up their 2.0, looks like Ill have to get a move on. Hopefully mine will be as above with headwork and 50bhp NOs.:devilish:
Has anyone else used these on a Mk1 Clio as I have just tried to fit my buckets and none of the holes on the subframes lined up with the runners? Took them back and the guys going to ring cobra on monday, just wondering if anyone else had this problem?
Sounds sweet, hope I beat you to the throttle bodies! How much did you fork out for the tuning on the 2.0 if you dont mind me asking? Oh and welcome we need more to hold back the 172/Cup masses.:D;)
Parts been delivered now, hopefully I will be able to drive the Williams properly for the first time in a week tommorrow. Northy_com fancy selling that manifold back to me?? Decided to keep the williams and turn it into stripped out, tuned beast. Have you had chance to use the car, got the alarm...
I run my car everyday, Im not bothered about not having interior etc. For 2 grand you will only get a heap of a Williams. I would go for a 16v if you are on a tight budget. Wont be that much slower than a Williams, as above with a cage and breathing mods.IMO
Go for it, I am doing a similar thing with a view to doing quarter miling and track days. Youd think the Williams was a luxury limo the amount of sound deadning and interior Ive pulled out! I have spent around 4500 pounds on a car I bought for 4750 (i got ripped off) so its not cheap.
Just been reading a copy of Max Power from 1998, had a Escort Cab with Cossie engine and drivetrain on the cover, no real body mods and full 2 pages on the floorpan showing the drivetrain, seam welding, etc. Seems things have changed for the worse! No soft p**n either.
Dave182 do you need to know what mods will work on the 182?;) 20"Chrome hoops, phat ICE install, nasty bodykit etc. Im sure Max Power used to be better back in 1998. Maybe ive got rose-tinted specs on.
Got my Williams in May last year and have reciepts for about 4500 pounds about 2000 of which are for modifications the rest on bodywork and maintenance. Plus 1350 on insurance and 10,500 miles worth of petrol! Not cheap then.
Cheers for that Nick, but when I priced up harnesses the other day I think my mind was made up by the 120 pound price tag on the aircraft buckle harnesses! The legal ones were 45 quid each!
That is really cheap! Did you get the price on the phone? I think I might get the full setup: Discs, calipers, pads and brake lines sounds like a real bargain!
I will be hoping to challenge the 1 in front this year. What are you having done to the megane engine 2 live? Will my 185bhp stripped out plans cut it??
Dont bother 2 live you know stromba would embarrass you anyway using the superior original tyres and suspension.;)
Last two times I have changed tyres I have gone for Toyo Proxes, got them for 45 each all in. Good value and I have found them to perform well in the dry as mentioned not so good in the wet but I dont cane around in the wet anyway. Usually last around 10,000 miles with my style of driving which...
I run without spare wheel, weighs quite a lot. More than anything else that can be easily removed ie Rear seats etc. Remove spare and interior trim and you will notice a difference. I have tyre weld in g/box.
