When I first got my Williams it handled terrible, lots of body roll. I think springs and shocks were well worn. I had both front strut brace and coilovers fitted at the same time and since I have yet to encounter any understeer and the limit to cornering is my nerve. Would recommend a strut...
Yeah scary isnt it car was neglected when I bought it , a lot of things needed doing got them done now but have a craving for more power and tuning a Williams is not good VFM.
I am going to be selling my Williams 2 soon to get something faster and was wondering what sort of price I would get for it, heres the spec-
M reg Williams 2 85K miles
Reciepts going back to 1995 including nearly 4K reciepts for last 7 months-
Gaz Coilover Suspension
K-Tec Front Strut...
With roads a bit moist getting power down is a nightmare, I was chasing a ST170 the other day and kept spinning up in 2nd and when I was trying to get power down round corners. He didnt seem to have a problem though, they got traction control?
Does anyone know of a good place for wheel refurbishment in the North West, preferably around Preston, Blackpool, Lancaster area? Got a set of Williams wheels that need sorting.
Been looking on the internet for a few days now and have been tempted by Lancer Evo 2 and 3s for 5-7k. Is there any advantage in getting a 3 over a 2 apart from obvious age difference? Delta Integrale is nice but too fragile and LHD.
Thanks for all the ideas, but I think Evos are too expensive or would have one. Only have around 6-7k to spend then there is insurance. Cossie would be nice but you have to pay the earth for a decent one. Decided to probably sell the Williams as I am better off spending money on faster car than...
Have started to think about getting a faster car, the main option being a Sunny GTiR. Cant decide if I want to tune the Williams - Cams and T/Bs or splash out on the tuneable GTiR. Trading in / selling my car and buying a GTiR will cost a fair bit plus increase on insurance but tuning the...
Coilovers improved the handling of my car no end the standard setup was really tired, was really soft with understeer. Now no understeer that I can find.
Anyone know how long a DD40 stays on a licence? Is it 3 years for points and if I do have anything on my licence I dont have to mention it if 5+ years ago? Help anyone?
Oh right, well its a Hillpower chip which I got for about 170 but I think its 150 for members. When I got the chip I didnt notice an immediate difference apart from the raised rev limit (7.5k) which is very usefull as I always used to hit the limiter. But when I tested the car down a local...
About 3 or 4 weeks ago my CD player stopped working, took the CD out and it was looking like someone had breathed all over it. Wiped it off but it still didnt work, moisture on CD reader thing? Mate reckons its because I dont have any carpets in the car to soak up condensation. Anyone else had...
You put the cat back on for MOT it only takes 5 mins. Cant stop modding keep to the engine though, would lose quite a lot money if I sold the car so Im going to keep it and get it to mint conditon and make it a bit faster.
Williams quarter miles vary but book figures have it around 15.8.
After chipping it gets expensive, exhaust manifold is 350 for a handfull of bhp and after that headwork and cams is 1.5k for about 20-25 bhp. Check out Hillpower.co.uk
Whoa 840 kg that way lighter than the Willy( 980kg ) apart from the engine where is the weight saved? 140 bhp plus in a car that light will seriously shift. Lucky B*stard!:D
Wouldnt mind comparing to a standard Williams, I think the difference would be noticeable might have to get off my ass and come to a meet etc sometime.
No have never had my car RRd. Most people on here think most Willys have more than 150 bhp as standard but surely this is affected by mileage? I wouldnt guess that my car has over 160 bhp.
My car had a S/S exhaust and k&n on when I got it, but since I have changed the k&n for a viper as most people agree open induction kit on a clio looses power. I also de-catted the car which helps the car to rev and had a chip installed at Hillpower, which raised rev limit to 7.5k. Chip only...
My mate has some Weber carbs that he was going to use on a 2.0 XE for a mini but he is now using a turbo lump so I can get them cheap off him. He reckons that they will work fine on the Williams, I dont know much about carbs though and was wondering if they would work with headwork and cams I am...
