bushes only tak 2 minz to get out, just stick a socket on top of them and hit them with a hammer a couple of times to get them out.
i recomend the Powerflex/K-Tec uprated polly ones :)
last time i heard that my CV joint had gone, all the roller pins went into gearbox, locked the gearbox up which juddered it and snapped the mount fuking the threads in the gearbox that it screws into which then burst the exhaust...
nice one mate will be good to see it back on the road again!, what you doing suspension wise since your 1.2 coilovers are for non RS cars? standard suspension since its been supplyed with kit?
if so, price for old suspension?! ;)
yep then its a 172 mount you have mate, 1.2-1.6 16v one is a black weak looking thing lol.
and yeah deffo worth it mate do it!
old bushes just chapped out in 30 seconds by sitting a socket on them and chaping them out with a hammer.
bmh.01, bushes came from k-tec.
i had fitted the 172 mount with standard bushes and it was better than my old mount with fuked bushes but still not brilliant, it feels much better with the new ones with no movement. you drop a gear and floor it and it pulls instantly instead of a bit of...
high millage ones tend to be noticeably better than new ones. sort out the suspension, powerflex bushes all round, better brakes and good tyres and they are brilliant fun and will out handle a 172 down a backroad which makes them very very fun cars to drive, obviously the same goes for a 1.4...
sorry smart arse but 1149 doesnt roll off the tongue too easy when your talking, so ill round it up just like renault do thanks..
it doesnt have a lot of power but i can assure you that with a couple of mods and still with the standard power its much more fun to drive than a 172, as im sure...
I always say that my Apex -60mm Suspension kit was the best mod ive ever done to my car, and although i like every mod ive done today i fitted Powerflex/K-Tec Uprated polly Gearbox bushes/inserts to a 2.0 16v 172 gearbox mount and fitted it to my 1.2 16v.
its amazing how much this simple (but...
to be honest tho my wee 1200 because of its handling has just enough power for me to have plenty fun, more power would be a bonus but on a backroad you dont really need much more than 100bhp if the car handles and is nice and light
sorry if this is a silly question but doesnt that mean im going to have a bigger steering lock one way than the other if they adjust the track rods because the actuall steering rack wont be centred when the wheel is?
just re fitted my subframe etc after changing my box and noticed the steering had come out in the footwell so straightened the wheels and steeringwheel and put it back in to find its not driving straight anymore when the wheels straight, can you take the steeringwheel off and re align it to sort...
i got one yesterday for 1,2 16v, different but similar so should give you an idea.
£161+VAT plus return your old one but guy gave me it for £100 inc vat and told me he'd just mark it as returned for the old shaft lol
nice car mate, silvers nice in the dynamique, its crying out for the Apex -60mm kit tho lol a set of 195/50/15 Eagle F1's and transfer your tunes over and it will be mint
yep as said im on 130k on a 2002 02 plate 1.2 16v.
coil pack went at 50k miles and then it was fine till 130k where i blew the gearbox but even at that 2 problems in 130k isnt bad. should be back on the road on wednesday after having a s**t load spent on the new box (only has 8k on it)...
