Just been on the phone to k-tec regarding the decat, & the guy at ktec reckons power flow exhausts actually loose power :( what do you guys reckon?
Thanks,
James
70mph in seocnd gear, now that should keep people of your tail off the lights:D
Will hopefully be oredering it tomorrow  , dont plan to install untill i have the silnced de-cat it though so will give me a chance to flick through the manual :)
What download would i need for my 2002...
couzens i'll have you know my 1.2 clio was rapid.... down hill  ... Happy times.. well they would be now with this dam fuel going up along with the tax hike next year :( ... atleast the 1.2 didnt need shell optimax... £1.23 a litre :quiet: :quiet: :quiet:
Atleast you got some one to help you sort it ;) , best mod, remove that K&n air filter & install the standard airbox, more power for free :), wouldnt bother with porting, i've heard that you can expect 10-20hp from a 172.. how much more do you reckon you'll gain on an engine that doesn't even...
Well looks like the carbon engine cover can be put on hold so i can get one of these kits asap
So this is the one i want then - http://www.fastchip.nl/component/page,shop.product_details/flypage,shop.flypage/product_id,18/category_id,7/manufacturer_id,0/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,26/...
If the white gunks there you can be pretty sure its gone i'm affraid, my old 1.2 still started with the head gasket gone, when you say you flaw it & you see what looks like smoke you are probarbly seeing condensation, water from the leaking head being drawn into one of the cylinders, best route...
Sweet, thats what i needed to hear ;) , how did you find the rstuner kit? like you have said, you have improved the bottom end power, thats exactly what i'm craving, dont get me wrong, the 172 pulls very well but if you get caught off gauard in the wrong gear can make you look a right t**t...
Silenced decat is what i was planning on but have been told there still noisey as fook too :S that not the case then mate? if so, power flow stays
What engine is it? if its the 1.2 8v d7f then providning you have a hanynes manual & fairly good under the bonnet then a head gaskets not a too bad, mine went & in total it cost me £90 & that was for re-skimmed head, head gasket, head bolts & thermostat, so over all not to bad, although i...
Hi all, With more on going mods along with talking to other car lovers the decat looks to be a must, the current exhaust that came with the car looks a great bit of kit & sounds ace "with" the cat but i think its going to be far too loud & have thought of replacing it with a k-tec stealth sytem...
Been doing alot of looking into one of these kits, Basically the car currently has a power flow exhaust & thats it but next month hoping to have an ITG pannel filter & a silenced de-cat so would have thought this kit would be prefect, since i already run it on optimax ( 98 ron ) & plan on having...
gd gd, thats what i wanted to hear, new plugs should be with me wed/thursday :)
Dan did you notice overall performance increase or just smooth idol? only been driving the car for a couple of weeks now, so cant compare, would be ace if there was even more go go:cool:
Mine does it too, but will be putting new spark plugs in this week as my current ones look shot at 50,000 miles, was told they were gd for 75,000 miles :dapprove: so hopefully that will ease it up abit
Oh these things do love the stones, as said above, i wouldnt worry to much about a little bit of weave outta place, you wont notice it when its been up & down the motorway a few times, wish i could of prevented it though :(
Nice one mate ;)
Just wish this weather would clear, cant do a bloody thing, been either on the laptop or sitting on gta... what a way to spend a bank holiday hey lol..
Ment to fit new spark plugs too at some point this week, did you you see the pics of my plugs Ivan -...
Right previous owner of my 172 thought it would be nice to de-badge the boot lid, so have now sourced all the badges, Installed the clio one no prob as that had the 2 holes to slot into, but the the RENAULT & the SPORT badge will need to be done by eye as i'm sure your aware, now i was thinking...
Right may go hunting for one, had 4 of the bloody things sitting in the shed for over 3 months..... dam shed clearing! i assume putting a spare 13/14" steelie on a 172 to drive home on in the worst case scenario should be okay right? obviouslly not gonna be giving it full beans lol
