i5's seem to be a good bang-per-£ CPU. I'd prefer an i7 myself (just to be an awkward git!) but they are definitely a more than capable CPU.
Griff's got one in his recent PC system. I'm sure he'd comment on how it fairs if you PM him. :)

As Gareth says, 32-bit is very long in the tooth now. It's based on technology that started mainstream in 1986 - which might as well be prehistoric in PC terms.
64-bit has been around for quite some time and it's no longer possible (for the most part) to buy a pure 32-bit CPU anymore...
Chaps,
Would you think that the attached pic would indicate that the MacBook's HDD is fooked, or that it just merely needs an OSX rebuild?
Currently getting it backed up to a G5 using that Firewire transfer option (great feature that) and then afterwards I was going to attempt a...
Impressive. But that's a nightmare just waiting to break? Surely the whole point of having the 'elegance' and functionality of a folding roof is that you don't want to see how it works?
I remember when these things first came out. The VW garage near us had a black one, parked up outside with a...
They are good spec cards, those. A nice, cheap way to get some decent Crossfire performance as well, if you got two.
I'd love a 5800 series though.

That sums up why it bored me as well - it was about as much fun as playing with a spreadsheet.
So my SMG of Pain goes well against lvl 10 opposition. Oh dear, I'm now against lvl 15 monkeys - it's not so good against them.
So my SMG of Extra Pain goes well against lvl 15 opposition. Oh dear...
I think that's the key to this game. On your own, it gets boring quite quickly I think. Going co-op would no doubt add to the enjoyment factor - as long as you could get multiplayer working in the first place. ;)

Basically, on par with the poll on Bioware's main site for Mass Effect 2.....
http://www.bioware.com/
... I actually picked the least popular (engineer) before I'd even seen that poll. I tend to do that a lot, regardless of the type of game - going for the least obvious and less mainstream...
The 5750's are good - but they only have 128-bit memory addressing. Like for like, the older gen 4870's can out-perform them - even with only 512MB onboard, compared to a lot of the 5750's with 1GB.
Still, they do offer DX11 support and for the money, they will be a significant step-up from...
What about this Dell, m8?

I've only used a netbook for networking stuff - so I'm not sure how good they are for HDMI output, etc.

Cheers for the info guys. Do you worry much about getting the lacquer from inbetween the numbers themselves? What grade sandpaper do you use?
Cheers,
D.
I definitely didn't sand them first (n00b - I know!) - but the plastic primer seemed to stick really well. As did the black paint on top of the primer - it was just when the lacquer went on that things went tits up.
It must be the black paint & lacquer combo that doesn't work. Entirely my...
Arse. :(
Well, I primered up my other set of bullets and once set, I went about painting the base of the badge itself black, leaving the raised lettering the anthractite'ish colour of the primer.
That bit went really well. The black paint stuck well to the primer and with the iPod on it the...
Cheers chaps. :)
Just tried Rob's suggestion and its allowed me to view and copy the files at least. I'm still struggling with the window/desktop/minimise/expand options on a Mac - not to mention the fact that clicking on a red 'X' doesn't actually close the program? So, so different to using...
I know. :( Unless I'm missing something obvious, I couldn't see any options to change for DiRT 2, either?
Such a shame. It's like owning a Ferrari and being limited to 2nd gear so that the other cars can keep up. PCs are being held back - not being pushed forward as they used to be....

Looks awesome. Just hoping that the PC version has options that you can tweak and improve the looks on. Seems increasingly common now that on cross-platform games, what you see is what you get.
I don't think EA/DICE would ignore the PC faithful. Would they? ;)

How do you get to view hidden or system files on a Mac? We've 'acquired' a useful iPod containing quite a few GB of music. ;) When plugged into the MB, it simply states Calendar, Recordings and some other file folders.
When I plug it into a PC laptop, I can see a whole lot more - including the...
What about this one m8?

Personally, I've found the Asus Rampage II to be a superb board, but it's a bit over budget! :)
