Tbh, its a pointless light. Redline in first comes around far too quickly for you to notice the gear change light, and in any other gear, you'll be going too fast to have time to look down at the little light

You'll never find two cars with the same feel to the clutch, it's how clutches are. My clio has a stiff clutch, with a harsh biting point Freelander has an insanely stiff clutch and has to be pushed right down Fiesta has a feather weight clutch, with a bite point as high as a kite

I'd get a couple of spanners and have a look in the cat before you decide thats the problem. 200+ for a new cat
