How long is a piece of string? It really can be as bad as that. Typically you'll be handing the document into non-technical people or management. They will not care of the model numbers, connections, ports used etc. They are merely concerned with two stats in the event of business continuity...

No worries! My desktop X-Fi card smoked length when Vista first came out. The driver support was horrendous. But the last time I used Vista (approx 6 months ago) - it had been revised and worked fine. Of course, with XP - there's no issue at all. :) D.
