The seats don't go far enough back, (I'm 6"5) but when they are right back I find myself having to hunch to reach the gear stick = serious back ache
Inexplicable rattles in the dash seems to be a common one and mines no exception
The fecking exhaust, that comes apart/falls off every other...
About half a mile, the really embarrassing thing was, there was no way of being quiet about it. Everyone was at their windows wondering what this huuuge noise was.
Me... without an exhaust
I tell you, the french know how to run car companies. Build a car and pre-programme it to break...
Yes... the centre section fell completely off last night. Twas dragging on the floor, so I had to find the nearest place to pull over... which happened to be right outside my local police station :( Reversing all the way back home so the rest of the exhaust isn't ripped off, FTL
Decat and...
yep still got that exhaust system, cherry bomb centre section and "custom chrome racing" back boxes
aslong as its stainless steel it'll all be good, and you have no idea how helpful a welded centre section to decat pipe is to me, the cat to centre section joint on my standard renault...
Ah fair enough. I've got two options really for back boxes, the original exhaust that came on the clio had custom back boxes to fit the kit that was on it, I could just modify the hangers on it, and get it to sit right, then swap the tips over, as its a 2.5 inch bore aswell. or just look for...
Rear bumper and two side skirts - £100
Renaults price for just one side skirt - £120
4 Brand new Team dynamic pro race 1.2s with new tyres - £330
Cost of repairing Clio 182 in first place - £4,000... Fail :(
Looks good!
Loving the recaros, they're on my very long list of things I want.
Now you just need the xenons and climate control, and it'll be as good as new!
Sounds like a chaotic few weeks for you! glad you've got it all sorted though.
As for the vectra, there comes a time when it just becomes uncool to drive something with a boy racer stigma attached to it, and with planning for a kid, couldnt think of a more sensible car for you.
Cheers for that, appreciated:approve:
Probably should do a quick update
Been driving it just over a month now, my exhaust has had to be fixed at least 3 times, and will probably never be right, so I'm now looking at a decat milltek system:approve:
The vomit that was left in it on...
Traditionally any change in bhp has an impact on bhp/tonne, so yes i think it would.
And, it probably does restrict the gas flow, but by a stupidly small amount
Didn't realise they were meant to have dents in them, seemed a bit strange how the manifold is perfectly cylindrical until the subframe, when a dent appears. It was me who spotted it, and just put 2 and 2 together, thinking it must have been the subframe that bashed a dent in it.
Looking into...
No worries, I see what you're saying. Really does sound the sensible option.
But, It's been 12 months today since I bought it (Cat C - even worse) and I just couldn't face getting rid, after I've been through so much with it, and looked forward to driving it for so long.
When it behaves, I...
I'm on first name terms with the lads at ATS now, I've been there that many times with my exhaust, the b*****d won't stop rattling or blowing, every time its fixed, it just starts blowing again! Might aswell not have an exhaust there at the moment, its driving me insane!
The two rear mounts...
The spoiler helps him with downforce when travelling at high speed, the body kit is obviously there to reduce the amount of air that travels under the car, lowering pressure, and preventing the front end lifting up, as his spoiler pushes the back down.
That looks exactly like what happened to my car when I bought it! exactly like it!
Same price for repair too, and from experience I'd say, stay well clear, no where near worth repairing it.
