One thing which doesn't get said alot matey is driving style
The rev limit is controlled by the ecu, and changes when the water temp hits circa 82 degrees iirc.
BUT, if you drive gently it might not reach that, even though as stated you have travelled a while, for example i work 12 miles...
Fair play Steph not a bad result there
last time i was there i was chatting to a chap with a 306 TD who started off in the 20's and by the end of the morning was running in the 17's and was having just as much time as people with faster cars, thats why i love RWYB's, you get to see all...
I can see your point mate, but i think one thing your missing is they didn't build the bottom end, how do we know that the previous owner didn't give the car death, and abuse it? I know what your saying and if they had built the engine then i could see your point, but as the bottom end was...
this car is #in a decent state of tune and will have bee nragged from day one, so what if its had a problem? plenty of people have had engines let go at low mileage from road use let alone bring ragged from day one!
i say give K Tec a chance to explain whats happened instead of throwing...
iv found this too, over the past few years, after a track day or a good long drive my clutch starts creaking, a good lubing up (ooh err) solves it till the ebgine bay gets hot again lol
Also if it has split and let grease out, buy some CV grease and repack it, as it would have lost grease, and it might cause the joint to run dry
So we thinking a decent jubilee clip then?
anyone else have trouble with the flippin things?
They just wont stay on lol, iv tried aftermarket, genuine Renault, mine just wont stay on
Apart from the cable tie idea anyone else know of any decent clips to hold these on? Anyone with experience! lol
new one looks really nice mate!
though just my 10p's worth, i realy cant see that engine making 180 bhp, am i right in thinking that the 1.6 Zetec ( i used to have an ecort with that engine) makes 105 bhp std? that means a 70%+ increase in power? thats alot from cams, and throttle bodies, i...
Best iv ever seen was when i were a car salesman,i sold a 525i to a builders son (18 year old) and two weeks later it turned up on a recovery lorry, so i asked him what happened:
'well it lost power and wouldn't rev over 5k, so i pulled over and spent about 5 mins reving it to clear it but it...
im sure i rememberreading about your first engine, good to see this ones better matey :) so whats the plan for it next once its all running nice and you have enjoyed driving it for a bit? :)
Cool matey, thank you for that :) My old F7R would hit the tone in 13.9 secs, so if you do get down towards the 11 then thats well nice :)
Can def understand what you mean, agree with the more tuning options available, and fair play to goin with it, i couldnt carry out that conversion!
i...
too much camera shake matey! thing is though, it doesnt look any faster than my old F7R, il dig the film out, 0-limiter in 5th (142 ish) in 28 secs, with breathing mods
Now im not saying that to put yours down in the slightest as you would happily hand my ph1 its ass lol, but what is the...
