Re: The story of a high mileage 172
Best thought id update this as i havent for ages
Not much to report, miles still piling on, 124,900 as of tonight
I have fitted new brakes now, yesterday morning at work, i have got a used set of discs, pads, calipers and hoses off Doug (cheers mate!)...
wow alot of different opinions here, iv found i get aongwith the F1s, and pe2s seem to be a good £12 per tyre more as an average than the toyo's and i suppose if Tim puts his 330 bhp's worth of V6 to the ground ok with them then i should give them a go!
Seriously appriciate all the advise here...
best thing mate is do a for sale thread in the parts section, and list whats broken and whats ok, if your willing to strip etc, should get some interest then :)
and whats people's opinions on the toyo's guys?
im after a progressive tyre, i like that you can feel when they start to let go, and the impressive wet weather grip, would i be right that these are probably about the same as they have similar tread patterns?
according to Reanult heritage there was only 1,357 ph1s reg'd in the uk:
31 Sunflower yellow
99 Iceburg silver
934 titanuim
117 Pearl black
60 flame red
116 Odyssey blue
id like to know how many of each are left on the road now
Im after some 195/15v15's as now i cant get F1s any more for anything resembling a decent price, so what else is there? i want to try parada spec 2's but iv heard their not great in wet weather, so only in this size please can i have some recomendations?
cheers
tbh Jon your not the most gentle driver lol ;)
nice one, when i had L765 GYW, he was going to put in a new set of cams for mine, ones he designed himself, but i blew 2nd syncro and had enough of it and sold it to martin lol
with the cable throttle there is no wait for the throttle to open, meaning throttle control is better, something far more usefull on the track than on the road tbf
for example, my car is black, and i never see any other black ph1's around, now when i see a yellow or silver one i think my black one looks boring, but when i see mine being driven i think it looks brilliant, i think its because i only see it sat still lol, anyone else find that?
also the...
