The 2.0l F4R rarely ever makes book figures.
Take my 182 for instance, i had it rolling roaded, it made 176bhp, the reason i got it done? The cambelt had just been done, i wanted to make sure it was atleast above 170bhp to make sure the engine was strong and more importantly, the cam timing...
Hutchies iirc, the engine bay is horrific though, im really not a fan of coloured top plenums and fancy lettering.
A clean engine bay is just as good! :o
Personally i cannot see the F4R being tuned anywhere past a reliable 210bhp by staying normally asspirated, given that the standard engines never normally make more than factory claimed figures.
Id have absolutley no problem buying a high mileage 172/182 principally because im familliar with them, i know what to expect.
That Sunflower id have no qualms about buying, shame the timing isnt right, i do plan to have another
Either way you look at this its a nightmare, i cant see Renault taking any proportion of blame whatsoever given the amount of clios that this has happened to.
That would then surley open the floodgates and secure the future for any other Clios this might happen to.
