sorry matey, but the 1.8 t was a 4 cylinder,there was a 5 cylinder but it was the v5 with either 150 bhp in 10v form or 170 bhp in 20v form a cup should be on par with a std mk5 gti,an edition 30 will be slightly faster

mines on 113k with full history and runs really well,still has the same compression when it was new,doesnt smoke or burn any oil or water i think its fine if there looked after properly

hmm well it must be a hard choice mate,when i took mine off the road last month and used that golf i had,i was aching to get bk into the clio and my 1st hard drive really put a smile on my face,the golf could never do that

then most def drive one before making any desisions matey,im not saying sell or keep,as only you can decide that,if it was me personally i would keep it as i believe soon good ph-1s are going to become rare

here is my 10 pence mate i think you need to decide if your happy with dropping the price on the clio,if you are then weigh up what car you want to replace the clio that will be as good in all fields,for example what can you buy for the same money that will be reliable,handle,be as fun,and...

i would imagine you will hasve to drain the gearbox oil mate you will be looking for a circular piece of metal,they used to go all the time on one of my mates old valvers,we even had the box drained,d/shaft out,new clip in d/shaft bk in and gearbox oil bk in in 45 mins lol

i have had 3 clios and a 172 looked a logical step up from my old hybrid ,although slower (that did 14.1@99 all day long at pod) it is nicer to drive and i like the looks. also i managed to pick it up for just over 2k back in march last year when even the snotters were fetching high 2k
