I think you're crazy for not spending the money to get the 'box replaced. If it was a £1k shed you're selling, then fair enough. But you're wanting a lot of cash for a broken car. Get it fixed and you're more likely to find a buyer.

I wouldn't worry about the lenses that get bundled with it. They're generally pretty crap. Get it with the kit lens (18-55) and once you're used to it and know what you like taking pictures of, work out what other lens to buy.
There is no possible way that you can logically justify that any Android phone is easier to use than an iPhone.
