Oooh I didn't check sensors and could explain high idle, but other symptoms didnt match the sensor being blown out :S

Yea the bang is a wonder and it still pops and bangs inside the engine :S So could be an exhaust valve jammed but because of the high idle thinking an inlet valve maybe jammed down?! I dunno really, like I say I left it for a little bit and come back to it later, sometimes revs drop to 1k and it...

Will get plenum off tomorrow night and check plug after I've found out which chamber is at fault!

Belts not slipped or anything though so wouldn't think valve would just snap or let go =\ It works fine it's still quite pokey as I took it as far as I could, if it goes bang it goes bang, but it easily got up to 70, bit slower than normal but it did it and sat there fine?

As above really, went into third gear followed by a bang, sounded like exhaust blowing. Opened bonnet, running on three, knocking coming from first cylinder chamber I think, not really tested it. Hoping something like coil pack, leads etc... But the knocking which sounds like a valve...

I will try, I've not got it at the moment as engine is having some work done to it AND I need some tyres before it can go on the road, and tax is up end of this month AND I'm sure MOT is out in December sometime :( lol!

I've picked up two cheaper than that in better conditon with belts done! One is my current daily and has done 6000 miles perfectly (touches wood) That is a bargain though and if closer I would have it!

I've got another Ph1 its just not here at the moment to compare to, but thanks anyway! Fred - I know what you mean it ripped the end clean off of my OS one, so its been nut, bolted and big washers now to keep the b*****d in place!

If thats all there is different I'm not worried. But that ARB end fixing really isn't man enough! As long as hubs etc are all Sport ones I can't see a problem TBH

The ARB? The ends are flat with a hole in for the bushes. Differences in Subfram from Sport and Non sport??

Thats what I thought :S Could you check the plate N11 BUB for me please ;) Done a check on AskMID and comes up as a Renault Sport. It was a Cat D, but maybe the subframe was changed too. Are wishbones shorter? Bit concerned as to what else coudl now be different!

I sold three pairs a few years back, all old and used! One bloke actually asked me to w**k in them for some extra money! I didn't do it but made around £70 selling three pairs!

Under the car this weekend an only photo I have but all my other Ph1's have had 4 clamp style bushes, on my current one it has the two clamps in the middle but the end ones on the wishbone go through the ARB?!

I would imagine there may be some liability insurance issues with this :S

Well you managed to get ahead, but we still beat you there :p lol! We had full car so looked lower! It's a dog really haha, it's a runaround so dented and banged here and there! Cups have a very soft spot for cups, looks very clean :)
