Can anyone recommend PC benchmarking software, ideally not graphics biased? I'd like to get so idea of performance relating to the CPU, memory, chipset and mobo for a couple of different setups.
Cheers,

LOL m8 - I ordered mine without even sitting in one! :clown: Many a time I thought 'WTF have I done' and was getting a tad worried as I'm nearly 6' 2" tall. I manage to fit in the 182 fine, mind....
As for your Beemer comparison - my godfather has had three since '89. First a 320i Conv., a...
Fecking hell. And I thought that 47MB left from my 52MB hard drive running MS-DOS 5 was bad enough...
WTF was MSoft thinking anyway - putting a 20GB into a new-gen console??? ;)

Anyone know of any decent ones? Got relatives over there that are going to be building their new PC shortly. Just wanted to point them in the right direction....
Cheers,
D.
Bloody hell Chris - how many brownie-points did you have to call in for that one? ;)
Topper - good to see that you still pop-in to CS - even if you have converted to the Meggy Darkside! :rasp:

If using Windows Media Player - make sure you chose the Loseless standard for audio ripping. Uses the most space/memory - but sounds much better....

LOL m8 - I'm just installing B&W2 again myself. That's a biatch about the patch isn't it? Thank god I didn't get too far on v1.0.
If the patch doesn't solve your issue, what sound card are you using? Since my X-Fi card has gone in, the only game it has issues with is Command & Conquer Generals...
Well, the card is in and even without a reformat of the PC - things are running fine. The only issue I've come across is that after a few minutes, C&C Generals Zero Hour ends up running at single frames per second. It did this on my old Audigy card too - so it must me Creative's wonderful...
Ok, it maybe a run of bad luck, but I doubt it. I live at the same address and work at the same place as I have done for years. Yet unbelievably, I've picked up a third puncture in just 12 months with the 182...
Actually, that's a lie - techinically it's four. When I had it repaired today...
What's the consensus on this then, chaps?
I didn't think the demo was too bad in all honesty - very 'arcadey' though. You can always judge how realistic a driving sim is on your first go. Fly around without ploughing into the cat-litter once and it's an arcade game. Find that you slide...
Well, we're still playing Quake 3 here (from circa 1998) and Quake 3 Team Arena. Quake 4 sits on the shelf having been uninstalled. Does that tell you something? ;)

LOL m8 - I don't quite achieve graphics like that using my trusty 9800 Pro! ;)
Still, it manages some neat touches though - your mouse pointer is actually the hand of god and it ruffles the grass and you pass over it. Pet or slap your creature in accordance to how you want him to behave. If he...
Got both 1 & 2 m8. No.2 is a lot better than the original but you could do with decent hardware to run it properly.
Unlike any other game out there for the PC - and really hard to describe. It's like a 3D god/management game with the sideline of raising and training your 'creature' to do your...
Got an X-Fi Fatal1ty going in this PC at weekend. Supposed to be s**t-hot, but I've heard loads of ppl having issues with it.
Time will tell, I suppose....

Parked on the road opposite PC World Bury, this morning. Had a large CS sticker in the rear window. Didn't manage to catch any of the reg plate.....
