Smash a socket onto it. Why can't you do that if it's round? Find one that really very nearly fits, smash away until it does, if it slips, go one size down and repeat.
Awesome car, but not the wheels.. :(
Haircut, you finally look male (bar the highlights ;) )
You've done a top job on that though kev, I'd love to have you skills with making a car look mint.
You should know iirc? ;)
Anyway, OP - it's possible the spacer isn't sitting flush on the hub, it's also possible that your tracking is off or a wheel needs balancing and that's been accentuated by fitting the spacers (unlikely, but possible)
It's also possible you knocked off a wheel...
Good to see you're still soldiering on!
Will all those marks around the holes come off the bootlid or is that as good as it gets???
Also, are they just packing tape marks on the wing??
Stick some halfords gromets in the holes, sorted.
The power flex involves pushing the old bushes out of your existing mount and putting harder bushes in.
IMO not really worth it in a 1.2 etc, but it can't hurt.
The harder rubber does cause increased vibrations some times but it does give a tighter feel to the gearbox, especially when...
You properly worry me. I genuinely think you should consider stopping working on your car yourself and start taking it to professionals.
The bolts you have are a 60 degree taper, are the wheels the same?
28mm thread does not seem very long, how far through the back of the wheel do they go...
Go for the valeo unit from Eurocarparts and get the 25% discount they've got.
As standard clutches go, the valeo kit is the best for the 172. Make sure you align it all properly, and very carefully, and the clutch will feel brilliant after. Mine did.
Re: Not so much a Project...
I can change the title, what to?
"My bumper's the wrong colour"?
Get the wheels done asap mate, they really let it down. Nice colour though, it'll look lovely if you get that bumper sprayed too.
FYI you cannot fit trendlines without fitting ph2 rear seats and doorcards.
The dark blue of the ph2 door cards actually match the top of the ph1 dash just fine so it all works, but the recaros look really silly with the ph1 leather and horrible coloured plastic of the ph1 door cards. :rasp:
A fair point but I just thought a quick lick of paint before the full winter refurb would have had it looking better for now. :rasp:
Still looks awesome in that pic at the yard.
